Genre/Influences: Experimental, Ambient-Electro, Industrial.

Format: Digital, CD.

Background/Info: Claude Celli was born in Luxemburg, but lives in Belgium. He’s an artist involved with different forms of arts; paintings, graphism and of course music. This album is a new chapter in the live series set up by Littl’Antenna in collaboration with Belgian NeuMusik (Wool-E Discs). We get a selection of eight tracks that were originally performed at two different events. It also is the debut album of Resonant Lines.

Content: This work is for sure the most eclectic one I’ve been invited to discover in this series. The main source of inspiration is clearly ambient-driven, but there are a few unexpected surprises. Parts of the work are moving into Industrial fields driven by a kind shamanic vibes. And there’s even a Techno passage mixing danceable beats together with pure astral atmospheres.

+ + + : I like this album for some of its most creative passages; merging Techno elements together with dense Ambient layers sounds a bit as a challenge, but “Glitchy Times” has been masterly accomplished. I also recommend listening to “Spirit Encounters I”, which is bringing this Industrial side together with a transcendental touch. “Spirit Encounters II” moves on the same approach. And if you’re more into pure Electro-Experimental work, you’re for sure are going to like the title track.

– – – : Resonant Lines doesn’t really are about established standards and is mixing different and sometimes opposite influences together. That might be a problem for ‘purists’, but I think it mainly reflects a creative taste.

Conclusion: “Quantum Call” is an accomplished and fascinating debut revealing a true potential.

Best songs: “Spirit Encounters I”, “Spirit Encounters II”, “Glitchy Times”.

Rate: (7½).
