“A Secret to Protect” is the third single from the dark electronic duo Ex-Hyena and is taken from their latest album “A Kiss of the Mind” which is out now on Re:Mission Entertainment. The 3-track single – available via Bandcamp – includes the normal version of the track plus remixes from Andre Obin and Johannas Kilngebiel.

The music video was directed by Reuben and stars Doommaedel, who plays a seductive, dangerous woman who goes on dates with various people and there’s vintage clothes shopping, bike riding, psychic readings (kind of), light bondage, murder, an undead dance party, hot tub fun, and more.

Bo Barringer and Reuben Bettsak from Ex-Hyena gave us feedback on the single.

Reuben explains: “‘A Secret to Protect’ is another high energy song that helps keep the album energetic and interesting. It’s such an electronic dark disco treat. It mixes soulful disco beats, Latin clave hits, speedy punk-funk guitars (whatever the fuck that means), and mixes it with the Ex-Hyena dark infused electro feels and a hint of Britpop, Pulp vibes. We play this song right after ‘In Slow Motion’ live and the two songs make such a great one-two punch….we love to shapeshift and not stay completely in one or two musical lanes, and this song exemplifies that.”

Bo from his side had this to add: “During the pandemic summer, concurrent to the first Ex-Hyena, I was working on a ‘solo record’ which started out with the simple concept of limiting myself to a Waldorf string machine and a CR-78 drum machine plug in. Not sure how successful that experiment was. Most people will never hear this, but I knew this one had to see the light of day. I played it for Reuben when we were in DC playing a show and he dug. I remember thinking ‘The Sisters of Mercy Does Saturday Night Fever’ when I wrote the chorus.”

Freakangel is back with an all new video , “The Last White Dance”, and a download EP with the same name which is available now on Bandcamp. The EP includes bonus exclusive remixes by Dawn Of Ashes, Alien Vampires, Acylum, Avarice In Audio, Freaky Mind and a special bonus in the form of an original demo track from 2009.

“The Last White Dance” is taken from the X Anniversary version of their debut album “The Faults Of Humanity” and, in co-operation with an Estonian film director and adult photographer that goes under the name of Basket Buns, it was turned into a NSWF (Not Are For Work) video. The music video is based on the grindhouse/cyberpunk series “Reval City” directed by Basket Buns which you can watch at www.revaluniverse.com.

Out via Old Europa Café in 2 weeks from now is the debut album from the collaborative electro industrial project Scopophilia. The album “Violent for being sexually desired” comes in a 6-panel digipak and 12 pages booklet.

Behind this project we find Harriet Kate Morgan (aka Military Position) and Ester Kärkkäinen (aka Himukalt). Although leading different lives in separate countries, the two share a number of similar influences: S.P.K., Atrax Morgue, Brainbombs, Lustmord, Vatican Shadow and so on.

Both Morgan and Kärkkäinen have a past experiences as sex workers, and they believe this album could be their own private soundtrack to a strip club or a dungeon.

Officially out tomorrow, but already available now for free is the 4-track “50 Shades of Gay” download EP by Junksista. The EP is being released via Bandcamp to celebrate the international day against homophobia and transphobia. We interviewed a long range of artists involved on this free EP.

For the EP they collaborated with Valkyrie Beestings (The Priscillas,Lene Lovich Band), who you might remember from the Junksista track “Likeyourshoes”. And that’s not all,  2 other legendary figures from the electronic scene also joined the cause: Claus Larsen of Leaether Strip and Claus Kruse of Gaytron/Plastic Noise Experience. Both gay musicians delivered their very own, dancefloor-compatible versions of „50 Shades Of Gay“.

Also included is a collaboration with the American dancer Gezelle Za Belle (see picture above) who is featured in a smashing (probably NSFW) video for the track which you can view below.
