Nightcrawler is a Spanish solo project inspired by George Gold. Active since 2011, he has built an impressive discography that includes several albums and EPs. At the end of 2025, he released this new work, featuring eight tracks.

The least I can say is that Nightcrawler has evolved enormously in terms of overall production. Still drawing inspiration from film music and sci-fi themes, the creative process has now matured into a hard, cohesive, and—above all—intelligent style and production. While guest vocalists were frequently invited on earlier releases, this album instead makes effective use of spoken-word samples. The music presents a particularly well-developed form of EBM in which power and intelligence merge into an exhilarating whole. Deep, forceful bass lines combined with a menacing atmosphere build toward an absolute climax. The sound production is phenomenal and clearly sets this release apart from more average efforts. At times, certain elements may evoke Front 242, yet the overall sound remains distinctly Nightcrawler’s own. Two of the tracks are reworked as “Club Edits,” further enhancing their impact on the dancefloor. Although I occasionally miss a prominent lead vocal, there is little reason to complain.

“Malevolent Forces” is a sublime record and, above all, a creative and forward-thinking example of EBM. In my opinion, it is also the strongest work I have heard from Nightcrawler to date. (Rating:8½).

Spanish electronic producer Nightcrawler has joined forces with Valencia-based EBM duo Spammerheads for the release of “Ghostless“. The new industrial-driven Nightcrawler and Spammerheads powered single is available now via Nightcrawler Music.

The track marks their first official collaboration and is Nightcrawler’s first major release since 2024.

According to the artists, “Ghostless” targets “spectacle-driven culture, hollow media figures, and the mechanisms of control that keep society passive and obedient”. The release is described as both “a protest and a purge”.

“Ghostless” was written and produced jointly by Nightcrawler and Spammerheads. Mixing and mastering were completed at NC Sound Studio. The cover artwork was created by George Gold Design.

About Nightcrawler and Spammerheads

Nightcrawler is a Spanish electronic music producer known for his darkwave, synthwave, and cinematic-inspired sound. He began releasing music in the early 2010s and gained attention with his 2014 album “Strange Shadows”. Nightcrawler has since collaborated with a wide range of artists and remixers across the dark electronic music scene.

Spammerheads is an electronic body music duo from Valencia, Spain, formed in the 2010s. The group is known for their politically charged lyrics, minimalist production, and strong DIY aesthetic. Their work often blends early industrial, EBM, and punk electronics.

Background/Info: George Gold is a Spanish producer mainly inspired by horror- and sci/fi movies mixed with electronics. After a few previously released albums he this year strikes back with “Visionary” featuring ten songs and the contribution of several guest singers.

Content: You rapidly notice the cinematographic inspiration running through the work. It’s not only about the instrumental edits of these songs, but still the global spirit devoted to soundtrack music. But there indeed is a kind of electro-pop touch on top, which has something danceable. Somewhere in between electro-pop and technoid arrangements, the songs remain fully accessible. Nightcrawler invited four guests; Celine (who you maybe remember from an album released a long time ago on M-Tronic), Maxthor, Mental Exile (aka Damasius Venys, also involved with Mondträume) and Sonja to add vocal lines on a few songs.

+ + + : The main strength of this album is for sure its diversity and interesting fusion between different music styles. You don’t exactly expect cinematographic music mixed with electro-pop and even darker techno elements. The songs with vocals inject something extra to the work while accentuating diversity. The instrumental “Gain Therapy” however is my favorite song for its hard kick and icy techno sound treatments. Another attention grabber is “Catharsis” featuring Mental Exile; I here like the down tempo plus the magic of the vocals.

– – – : I’m sometimes missing a little bit more coherence between several songs; it’s a creative format, but missing a true catharsis.

Conclusion: “Visionary” is an interesting album for its global approach and creative exposure. This is film music you can dance on!
