Genre/Influences: Experimental, Minimal, Industrial.

Format: Digital, CD.

Background/Info: “Dolta” resulted from the collaboration between Kojoohar (member of Kadaitcha) and Ködzid Goo who seems to be an Experimental Hip-Hop project. Both artists already released an EP together in 2019.

Content: Kojoohar took care of the music and Ködzid Goo wrote the lyrics and did the vocals. “Dolta” is a hard to define album, which is driven by slow, bombastic rhythms, menacing bass lines, Industrial and icy sound treatments. The vocals –I presume sung in Ukrainian, are sometimes a bit like a storyteller. One of the tracks is featuring a guest singer.

+ + + : This project sounds more accessible than Kadaitcha, and sounds as an accessible Experimental music experience. I especially like the icy, analogue sound treatments, mainly creating the freaky atmosphere of this work. It together with the bombastic arrangements only empowers this cold atmosphere. You feel an imaginary danger while the vocals have something mysterious. So in the end I should say every single aspect accentuates another aspect, creating a vicious sonic circle resulting in a few highlights such as “Ghar” and “Kopi”.

– – – : This album is hard to catch and needs a few listenings before you eventually can get into it. It’s an accessible, but extreme experience, which can’t totally convince me.

Conclusion: Behind this composition is hiding a cold and tormented sphere, which has something surreal and intriguing.

Best songs: “Ghar”, “Kopi”, “Sulema”.

Rate: (7).
