Out now is “Suicide March”, a brand new single by the Russian harsh EBM band Invisible Devastation which we have covered already a few times here in Side-Line.

“Suicide March” is a follow-up to the band’s previously released singles, “Prophecy” and “Chernoyarsk”, taken off their upcoming second album which will be released on the fine SkyQode label. Expect stomping beats, hard grooves and harsh vocals.

In addition to the title track, which should do pretty well in the industrial club scene playlists, the release also features a special mix of the “Mother Of Heroin” from their debut album as well as a rather exquisite remix by the Russian dark electro act Noise Resistance and last but not least, the instrumental version of the title track.

Invisible Devastation was formed back in 2009 by two members of Mechanical Apfelsine, one of Russia’s most famous synthpop bands. In 2015, they released their debut album “The 13th Apostle” which got a lot of positive feedback from fans and DJs worldwide. After releasing a follow-up EP in 2016, the duo went on a prolonged hiatus, only to return with new music in 2020.

Invisible Devastation was formed back in 2009 by two members of Mechanical Apfelsine, one of Russia’s best synthpop bands. In 2015, they released their debut album “The 13th Apostle” which got a lot of positive feedback from fans and DJs worldwide. After releasing a follow-up EP in 2016, the duo went on a prolonged hiatus. In 2020, they returned.

The new single “Prophecy” delivers a fusion of harsh electro and breakbeat reminiscent of what you could expect from Prodigy. In addition, it includes an updated version of the track “Legacy” from the debut album as well as a remix by Cutoff:Sky and the instrumental version of the title track.

Out via SkyQode is the newest Unitcode:Machine single “Instigator”. The new single by this very enjoyable EBM / industrial act is taken from the band’s latest album “Tyranny” showcasing the band’s distinctive blend of EBM and industrial .

In addition to the title track, the single features remixes by Freaky Mind, Elezoria, and Invisible Devastation. This single should please fans of Imperative Reaction, Absurd Minds, Decoded Feedback and the like.

Unitcode:Machine is a US-based band which was formed in 2000 by Eric K.. Their first official release landed in 2004 and mixed multiple genres like EBM, industrial, synthpop, and many others.

“Chernoyarsk” is a brand new download single by Russian harsh electro / EBM duo Invisible Devastation out on SkyQode and available on all digital platforms. The new single features four tracks including the title track “Chernoyarsk”, a power-packed harsh electro dance floor killer, an updated version of their hit track “The Devil” from the debut album, a live version of “I Am Bastard” recorded during the band’s online concert and the instrumental version of the title track.

The band was formed back in 2009, as a side-project of two members of one of Russia’s best synthpop bands, Mechanical Apfelsine. In 2015, they released their debut album “The 13th Apostle” which got a lot of positive feedback from fans and DJs worldwide. After releasing a follow-up EP in 2016, the duo went on a prolonged hiatus. In April 2020, they surprised all their fans with a comeback single “I am Bastard” and announced their plans for more releases this year.

Out via SkyQode now is “I Am Bastard”, a new single by the Russian harsh EBM duo Invisible Devastation. It’s the first material from the duo after several years of total studio silence. You can check the 5-track release right below. The single features new versions of “I Am Bastard” and “Invasion” from the debut album. Both tracks showcase the band’s current sound. The release also includes two remixes by N-616 and Sergie Mercury, as well as the instrumental version of the title track.

Invisible Devastation was formed back in 2009, as a secret project of two members of the synthpop band Mechanical Apfelsine. Genre/Influences: Electro-wave, goth-pop.

Background/Info: ManOK is a Ukrainian duo, which already released a first album in 2012 on Scentair Records.

Content: “Dies Irae” clearly deals with pop influences, which have been joined and accomplished by other genres like electro-wave, EBM and gothic music. I also noticed some folk-, neo-classic- and even cinematographic influences running through a few cuts. The male- and female vocals are all sung in the Russian language.

The last cuts are remixes by Ginger Snap5, Anton Gagarin, Hyperhate and Invisible Devastation.

+ + + : ManOK clearly deals with a pop format you can’t directly link with another formation. The Russian language makes it very specific as well. I prefer the songs moving on the edge of body-pop music although the “Acoustic”-version of “В Эмпиреях”, which is more into soundtrack music, is captivating as well. The Hyperhate remix is a quite noticeable cut.

– – – : I can imagine ManOK is the kind of band that will get more recognition in their homeland and/or Russia instead of the world-wide electro-pop scene. I however think the album is missing some passion and especially highlights.

Conclusion: “Dies Irae” left me rather skeptical about the potential of ManOK although it’s an opportunity for electro-pop fans to discover a band from the Ukrainian scene.

Best songs: “Инкуб”, “В Эмпиреях (Acoustic)”.

The 38th track on our free download compilation “Face The Beat: Session 4” (featuring 92 tracks) is by the Russian melodic harsh EBM act Invisible Devastation.

The city of Nizhny Novgorod (Russia) is the homebase of this great discovery: Invisible Devastation. Signed to the fine label SkyQode, the band offers a mix that dwells between harsh EBM and future pop. Started in 2009 as a (dark) side-project of the members of the Russian synthpop band Mechanical Apfelsine, the band quickly gained local attention and those continued their new project. The band’s latest release is “Эпитафия” (don’t ask us how this is pronounced), and was released last year. Check them out on Facebook.

Genre/Influences: Body-pop.

Content: Invisible Devastation is a Russian band dealing with influences of electro-pop and EBM. Set up a few years ago they didn’t release that much stuff, but got some positive response in their homeland. Behind this band is hiding Mechanical Apfelsine, which is a rather successful electro-pop formation. But it’s now time for Invisible Devastation and their official debut album “Тринадцатый Апостол” (cf. “The Thirteenth Apostle”).

One of the main characteristics of the band is the Russian language, which is used on the entire album. It creates a kind of ‘exotic’ and original touch, but it’s simply impossible for non-Russians to understand a single word and or to read the titles, which of course are in Russian as well. But on the other side it makes for the charm of this work and the particularity of Invisible Devastation.

The work sounds as a nice twist between EBM and pop influences. Some songs are more into an explicit electro-pop style, but it always has the influence of darker atmospheres and deep growling vocals.

The timbre of voice reminds me sometimes of Dario Seraval (Borghesia). The cavernous timbre of voice is in contrast to the music, but there definitely is a kind of complimentary.

The work features several cool songs, but I have a preference for the power-pop like “Наследие” and the catchy body-pop inspired “Дьявол”. You can hear that this duo is experienced with pure electro-pop music and that’s an aspect which comes through with some great leads. The songs are also accomplished by noticeable sound treatments and subtle bleeps and other fine arrangements.

“Красное Братство” is an interesting song for the somewhat cinematographic style

Conclusion: All of the songs can’t convince me, but globally speaking this album is a rather enjoyable release, which totally fits to the style of SkyQode.

Best songs: “Наследие”, “Дьявол”, “Мать Героина”, “Красное Братство”.
