The US-based dark pop duo Esoterik is back with a new EP, “Archetypes”. Thematically “Archetypes” explores themes “that have shaped societies for centuries, celebrating legends that transcend time and culture.”

This release, preceded by a series of singles and videos, is now available on all major digital platforms.

Since their formation in 2013, the duo (Allison Eckfeldt and Brady Bledsoe) brings what they call ‘Pagan-Synth’ fusing 80’s synthpop elements with rock.

The self-proclaimed “pagan synth” duo, Esoterik is back with a new single, “Shadow” , taken from the forthcoming EP, “Archetypes”.

The “Shadow” stands for an archetype, a silent observer always watching from behind the scenes, waiting with indifference for what comes to pass. The band adds: “They say you must make peace to move forward, but isolation has always tasted better. Nothing is inherently good or bad and imbalance provides perspective. Without a light to shine the subconscious feeds eternally. However, in absence of light a shadow cannot exist.”

On the upcoming EP Esoterik examines the tropes that have weaved a thread across societies for centuries. “It’s such an interesting topic and really highlights the power of language whether written or passed down via word of mouth. The legends hold a commonality that span through time and culture. Before the world was connected by technology, these stories held the experiences and wisdom for generations to come. Whether they are steeped in symbolism or ritual, the lessons are still infused and if sensational that only ensures the survival beyond our limited life spans.”

For their new single the Pagan Synth duo Esoterik explores “the beauty in evolution and transformation”.

The band adds: “The Hero’s journey is one of introspection with an effort to shed light on the flaws that stifle forward progress. But this process can also lead to rumination without the balance of right action. The Oklahoma City-based ‘pagan synth’ duo Esoterik have unveiled their latest single, “Trickster”. This track precedes the release of their forthcoming EP, “Archetypes”, scheduled for later this year. The upcoming EP, “Archetypes”, delves into universal symbols and stories that resonate across cultures, emphasizing the importance of storytelling in human history.

The “Trickster” single explores the themes of chaos and its role in both creation and destruction, posing questions about its necessity and the nature of change it incites. “Trickster” is now available across various digital platforms, including Bandcamp and Spotify. Dutch/UK based industrial-rock artist Grendel has announced their North America tour with industrial artists Striplicker, synthwave artist Glass Apple Bonzai and darkwave upstarts Esoterik in support of their upcoming album “Ascending the Abyss”.

Grendel frontman JD Tucker recently changed Grendel’s sound with their 2017 album “Age of the Disposable Body”, demonstrating a shift away from standard industrial, adding elements of rock, synthwave, post-punk, and darkwave. On the upcoming release Tucker mixes aggressive guitars, 80s style synths and intelligent percussion work.

“Ascending the Abyss” will be available this summer on Metropolis Records (North America) and Infacted Records (EU).
