The bassline on the new Death By Love track was recorded in a hotel room on a North American tour. Królowa Świata, out digitally on 28 August 2026, is the first original song the Polish-American duo have written in Polish, and it carries a guest bass part from Mario Usai of Clan Of Xymox. The gothic, industrial and trip-hop mix Death By Love brought to their debut album “444” is here pushed towards trance-styled synth sequencing.

The release runs four tracks: “Królowa Świata” (3:44), a “Psychotribe Psychoqueen Remix” of it (3:45), “Forest” (3:53) and a “Psychorchestra Remix” of “Forest” (4:02). Inga Habiba wrote the lyrics and sings; Peter Guellard handled synths and electric guitar; Usai played bass. Guellard produced and mastered the track at his Psychotribe Studio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The cover picture is by Robert Laska.

How Death By Love built ‘Królowa Świata’ on the road

The title translates as “Queen of the World”. Habiba addresses the song’s second person to herself rather than to a listener, and describes the writing that way: “these words are the whispers of my own subconscious, trying to break through the defensive armor I had built around myself.”

Guellard began work on the track while touring the North American East Coast as a tech for Clan Of Xymox, carrying a portable rig and building around vocal takes Habiba had sent him. He cut the first guitar pass on Ronny Moorings‘ Rickenbacker. Usai then came into his hotel room, listened, and recorded the bass for the whole song. Guellard finished the arrangement at home, pairing fresh vocals from Habiba with the synth sequences. On writing in Polish, he commented: “Poland is our homeland, after all, even though at this point I’ve lived in the US longer than I ever lived there.”

The video sets a vampire story in a mansion and a ballroom. Guellard built it from AI-generated imagery that he then edited and reworked with additional visual effects, the same method the duo used on their 2025 video for “Krakowski Spleen”. The track is on Bandcamp, Spotify and YouTube.

Wieloryb was the project of Paweł Kmiecik, formed in 1994 in Poland’s Trójmiasto area (Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot) and among the country’s earliest EBM acts. Death By Love is a brand-new project led by American producer and multi-instrumentalist Peter Guellard, joined by Polish singer and songwriter Inga Habiba. The duo emerged after Guellard was unexpectedly left without a singer in a previous project.

Following several singles, they now present their debut album, “444”, which showcases a remarkably diverse range of influences. From hard Industrial-Rock to Trip-Hop, and a significant portion of Ethereal tracks, it sometimes feels as if multiple bands are hiding within this record. What appeals to me most—and clearly constitutes the album’s strongest passages—is the Ethereal side, highlighted by Inga Habiba’s magical, enchanting voice. At times, her singing sounds almost like a lamentation, perfectly matching the music’s atmosphere. There’s a distinct, Eastern flavor in her delivery -but still in the music, that isn’t immediately comparable to Dead Can Dance, though the parallel becomes understandable in certain moments. The music, particularly on these tracks, is subtle, refined, and reveals the true power and potential of the project.

While “444” may contain a few too many influences, I highly recommend exploring and further developing the Ethereal side, which feels like the heart and strongest identity of Death By Love. (Rating:7).

Polish–U.S. dark electronic duo Death By Love have released their debut concept album “444” on Distortion Productions, available on CD and digital formats.

The album runs eleven tracks and musically combines gothic, industrial and trip-hop elements with prominent Middle Eastern melodic touches. Thematically “444” is about mysticism, identity, spiritual tension and emotional rebirth, described by the duo as “a ritual of survival, transformation, and paradox”.

Writing for “444” began when core members Inga Habiba and Peter Guellard met in Warsaw in October 2024 to record the tracks “Strong Inside” and “Temros”, both accompanied by videos. The remainder of the record was developed through a year of file-based collaboration between Europe and the United States.

The album also includes “Temros (Symphonic Mix)”, a reworked version of the track that first appeared on the compilation “Electronic Saviors Vol. 7: ReUnion“.

Transatlantic dark electronic duo Death By Love have released their new single “Sellenno” from the forthcoming debut album “444”, scheduled for 20 February 2026 on Distortion Productions.

Recorded as part of an 11-track concept album, “Sellenno” is according to the band a direct engagement with trauma and dissociation rather than a conventional breakup song. Written in autumn, described as “a season of decay and withdrawal”, the track was conceived to give form to long-buried childhood pain and the emotional numbness associated with C-PTSD.

The accompanying video was filmed inside the cold, cavernous interiors of the former industrial disused Heinz Ketchup Factory in Pittsburgh, USA.

Instead of framing the piece as catharsis, Death By Love describe “Sellenno” as a portrait of survival, where speaking openly about trauma functions as resistance to silence.

“Sellenno” follows a run of digital releases that introduced the duo’s sound in 2025. The three-track single “Strong Inside” appeared at the end of January 2025 through Distortion Productions, featuring the album version, an acoustic-leaning rework and a Kromproom Machine remix. In March 2025, Death By Love issued a Polish-language cover of Maanam’s “Krakowski Spleen”, accompanied by a video built from AI-generated visuals, with an English version earmarked for inclusion on “444”.

Pre-orders for “444” are open via Death By Love’s Bandcamp page, which offers the album in digital form and as a physical CD, with the track “In Unity” currently available to hear ahead of release.

Between these releases, the band contributed to COP International’s 75-track wildfire relief compilation “Los Angeles – From The Ashes“, which brought together industrial and electronic acts across multiple labels to raise funds for victims of the Los Angeles wildfires. The devastating fires in Los Angeles also destroyed “one of the most vibrant artist communities in the world” so COP International’s Christian says. “Many of our friends, collaborators, and fellow artists were displaced, with some losing everything. The dark electronic duo Death By Love has announced the release of their debut single & video, “Strong Inside” courtesy of Distortion Productions.

Here’s what the band says about the song: “‘Strong Inside’ is a song that deeply reflects the inner struggles of the human experience. The lyrics touch on universal themes of vulnerability, self-acceptance, the constant search for inner peace, and authentic connections. It’s a song about self-preservation and a yearning for closeness and connection and the aspiration for a balanced and authentic self. About Death By Love

Death By Love fuses gothic, industrial, and trip-hop influences with Middle Eastern soundscapes. The band was formed by Polish singer-songwriter Inga Habiba and American music producer Peter Guellard. For live performances, they are joined by guitarist Adrian Adioetomo and drummer Joe Palermo.

Inga Habiba began her career at the age of 16 with the new wave band Nizam and has since fronted an array of projects, including Monev, Ahimsa, and her gothic rock band Lorien.

Peter Guellard is the frontman of the Polish goth band Blitzkrieg, and was involved with bands such as The Electric Hellfire Club, Venus In Furs, Mace, and Dichro. His remix work for NUN was what united him with Inga. In addition to his musical work, Peter is a video producer.
