Heaven Can’t Heal is the second album from the American band Circuit Preacher.

The 10 tracks transport us back in time to the EBM era of Skinny Puppy, particularly their “Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse” album. I’m not suggesting this is a copy-paste of that record or era—Skinny Puppy remains in a league of their own—but the same zeitgeist and obscure sound palette have been reinterpreted with a fresh, modern approach. At times, early Nine Inch Nails influences also emerge from the speakers. The songs are raw, unpolished, and delivered with an intense, almost frenzied vocal performance. Unfortunately, many tracks feel quite short.

Still, Circuit Preacher is an intriguing project that will certainly appeal to fans of early electro and industrial music. (Rating:8).
