Clan Of Xymox announce new album for June: ‘Exodus’

Out via Trisol on the 7th of June is the all new Clan Of Xymox album “Exodus”. A video for the single “X-Odus” will be made available next week.

“Exodus” is the band’s 18th studio album to date and comes three years after “Limbo”. The new Clan of Xymox album will be released in digital format, CD, and a limited blue transparent 12″ vinyl (500 copies).

About Clan Of Xymox

Clan of Xymox, originally known as Xymox, is a Dutch darkwave band formed in Nijmegen in 1981. The group was founded by Ronny Moorings, Anka Wolbert, and Pieter Nooten.

Initially inspired by punk and post-punk movements, Xymox quickly developed their unique sound blending elements of gothic rock, synthpop, and electronic music. They gained attention with their self-titled debut album in 1985, featuring the underground hit “A Day.”

In 1986, the band changed their name to Clan of Xymox to avoid potential legal issues and released their second album, “Medusa,” which further established their signature dark and atmospheric sound. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, Clan of Xymox released several albums, including “Twist of Shadows” (1989) and “Phoenix” (1991).

Despite lineup changes and periods of hiatus, Clan of Xymox continued to evolve their sound, incorporating elements of trance, industrial, and alternative rock into their music.

Out today is Clan of Xymox’ newest album ‘Limbo’ – check it out

Exactly a year after “Spider On The Wall”, goth rock band Clan of Xymox returns with a new album’ “Limbo”. As 2020 saw the world shut down, and Clan of Xymox was unable to tour, the band began writing and recording new material, influenced by the pandemic.

And that theme is indeed omnipresent on the 12-track release with tracks such as “Lockdown”, “Big Brother”, “The Great Reset”, “The Great Depression”, “How Long”, … Not exactly a hopeful album we must say, on the contrary.

Clan of Xymox started out as a trio of songwriters – Ronny Moorings, Anka Wolbert, and Pieter Nooten – and gained success in the 1980s, releasing their first two albums on 4AD, before releasing their third and fourth albums on Wing Records and scoring a hit single in the United States.

Their 1980s releases included synthpop/electronic dance music. The band is still active with Moorings as the sole remaining original songwriter.

Out on July 16th is the all new album by the Dutch goth act Clan Of Xymox. “Limbo” will be out via Trisol and count 12 tracks of which 2 can already be listened to below.

“Limbo” is the follow-up to last year’s “Spider on the Wall”.

Clan of Xymox featured a trio of songwriters – Ronny Moorings, Anka Wolbert, and Pieter Nooten – and gained success in the 1980s, releasing their first two albums on 4AD, before releasing their third and fourth albums on Wing Records and scoring a hit single in the United States.

Out by early April is the brand new Clan Of Xymox album “Days Of Black”. The band finished the recordings and mixing in December. The mixing of tracks took 3 weeks in total, during which the band has been “spending time to the littlest of details” as they say. “Days Of Black” is the follow-up to the 2014 released “Matters of Mind, Body & Soul” album and can be ordered right now. Clan of Xymox, also known as simply Xymox, are a Dutch rock band formed in 1981. Clan of Xymox featured a trio of songwriters — Pieter Nooten, Ronny Moorings and Anka Wolbert — and gained success in the 1980s, releasing their first two albums on the prestigious independent UK label 4AD and a third and fourth album on Polydor. Their 1980s releases included synthpop/electronic dance music. Though the band is still active and continues to tour and release records, of the original songwriters (Nooten, Moorings and Wolbert), only Moorings remains in the band today. After the departure of Nooten and Wolbert in the early 1990s, their music turned increasingly goth.
