DC Punk humor zine BLT (Black Leather Times) compiled in a book - available now!

Out via Blue Blood (and available right now from Amazon) is the omnibus collection of every issue of the punk humor zine BLT (Black Leather Times) ever published. The book, curated by Amelia G., is called “BLT 25: Black Leather Times Punk Humor and Social Critique from the Zine Revolution” and was funded on Kickstarter by fans and friends of the original zine.

BLT was originally founded by feminist punk women (including Blue Blood’s Amelia G. and various members of the group house known as ‘Cambodia’in the DC area in the early 90s. It of course had strong ties to Washington DC, Baltimore, and the surrounding suburbs. The BLT crowd was predominantly punk and listened to goth industrial music. And like the press release on the book reads, “(they) went to science fiction conventions, sported cool hair, saw a lot of live bands, engaged in unconventional sex, and wore leather jackets and combat boots.”

The publication was picked by the Kickstarter staff as a preferred funding project on the platform as you can see below.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. And unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 2 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.

The donations are safely powered by Paypal.
