X-Fusion

(12 posts)

  1. these guys aren't talked about often here... well.. the man behind the project is often mention in reference to mastering other's peoples music... he's held in very high regard as far as production goes

Noisuf-X seems to be mention much more

i've bought albums from both projects.. enjoy both.. but i really feel that X-Fusion is the more complex of the two.. his real project... noisuf-x is the very very club friendly, genre crossing, and a more easily accessible project

i decided to start this thread because a new X-Fusion album is about to come out

there are tracks on his previous works that just stick with me.. and inspire me continuously

clarity, punch, dirt, grime, distortion, atonal, droning, pounding, crushing, melody... really pounding, crushing melody? yup .. this motherfucker is dirty

i know it isn't anything ground breaking.. but its fucking well done and thought out and the quality/clarity of these dirty, distorted works are very, very well produced and thought out songs... and the albums have a natural flow to them... a wide variety of tracks that span a broad spectrum of "dark electronic" music

    ...

    so...

tell me what you like about X-Fusion or Noisuf-X

    post some videos and shit

this one is epic on too many levels.. i just love it

and this one is more club friendly.. but in the same vein, which is very important in my opinion.. being in the same vein that is... not club friendly.. but in the car.. club friendly is definitely a plus.. unless on the interstate.. then refer to the previous

  2. x-fusion is fuckin awesome. I swear anything Jan touches turns to gold. I dig his remixes (Grendel - Hate this for example) and enjoy the Noisuf-X, but nothing compares to his X-Fusion stuff. I already have the 2xCD version of the new album on the way from Poponaut. I cant wait.

Tracks like Rotten to the Core, nearly all of "Beyond the Pale" CD, and I can keep going on. The first album is a bit difficult for me to get into anymore, but everything else always gets replays.

  3. and even for club friendly.. it isn't boom tap boom tap

but then again... a lot of people prefer that boom tap

    i really appreciate the deviation

    speaking of deviation

how the fuck.. really.. its like the last album too... how the fuck is this any fucking way cliche.. or derivative.. i know anger is stupid.. violence wrong... but i would fucking cunt punch that cyberium guy if i ever saw him in person

    Numb - Deviation

    motherfuckers

I much prefer Noisuf-x, but X-fusion is still amazingly awesome, however I only have a few of their songs though, whereas I have all the noisuf-x albums. In my eyes he's one of the best producers in Industrial, especially in terms of 'sound quality' (I know, a rubbish term, but you get what I mean).
He also seems like a great guy, which helps even more. They played in York, UK last year and unfortunately I was out of the country whilst they did which pissed me off no end.

Definitely thinking about getting him to mix and master some of my stuff, even just to see what it'd sound like!

X-FUSION - "Bouncer of the pearly gate"

The openining/recurring sample is from the 'Nine months' comedy movie. It's Joan Cusack's rant!
    Amazing song and sample!

I also would have to concur that I think X-Fusion is the stronger of Jan's projects. I really love the orchestral arrangements that Jan manages to incorporate into his X-Fusion tracks. Not just a synth string and a pad or two, but full cellos, violins and tympani drums. I also really appreciate some of the innovative sounds he uses. No simple presets here.

I hope he continues to have the conviction to craft such daring songs that aren't just 4x4 floorfillers. But if he ever should decide to give up the scene I'm sure he could make a good living doing movie scores along with his production business.

This track could easily give Danny Elfman a run for his money.

  10. I have all of the X-Fusion albums, and I'm really looking forward to the new one. I don't really like Noisuf-x, though.

first song i had heard by them. started to lose interest in 2003, still loosely followed them because people i talked to wouldn't shut up about them.

i think they have a handful of good songs per cd. x-fusion tends to focus on production value rather than any kind of innovation or creativity. which seems odd from someone who's been making music since 1988.
