I've always loved his music, but there's such a huge catalog of music, I have no idea where to start.
What are some of :Wumpscut's better, must have albums?
    Thanks all.

Embryodead is pretty essential. When you're looking at :W: albums, if it was released in the 20th century, it's probably good. If it was released in the 21st century, it's probably bad (I liked Wreath of Barbs, though).

Bunkertor 7 is the only :W: album that's strong from start to finish. There are many, many great tracks on his other albums, but also a lot of disappointing filler.

@crispy: Which edition of Bunkertor 7 are you referring to? Mine is the MET 037 release with three mixes of the title track, and two mixes of Die In Winter, which has always felt like the definition of "filler" to me. I'd still recommend it, though.

@Brapley: I loaned my original version of Bunkertor 7 to a friend several years ago. When I complained that she never returned it, she sent me a brand new copy of Bunker Gate 7 with those additional remixes.

I would agree it seems like the new stuff is unnecessary filler, especially the way they re-arranged the track listing and inserted the remix tracks in the middle instead of at the end like most remixes.

  9. Jesus Christ, what's wrong with Evoke? Lots of goodies on there. I would suggest though to start:

    Dried Blood of GOmorrah
    Music For a Slaughtering Tribe
    Bunkertor 7

although for me personally his newer stuff is not as good as the old stuff, I still really like Wreath of Barbs and Evoke.

  16. If I had to choose one, I would choose the original Bunkertor on Beton Kopf and fuck all the rest. That album is legendary. All the other one have ups and downs, some more severe than others.

Alot of artists have ups and downs, doesn't mean its not worth buying.

  18. So you just buy whatever album comes along based on the merit of the last albums?

yep, another vote for Bunker Gate 7 here...and avoid that vocal remix of 'Thorns' like the plague. Still can't shake the remnants of that wailing add-on...

'Embryodead' was okay, too. Get the Wumpscut remix wars (with Haujobb) disc for something different.

Wow - the early 90's Wax Trax / Nettwerk mindset still exists?? Neat.
