It's Jim Semonik here. I guess it was inevitable. This disease attempted to ruin my life and kill me. This makes me feel like a complete fucking loser because of how much work I put into this, and it is just being stolen and money is being taken out of the hands of those that could really use it to fight this. I totally understand where you're coming from. I've spent THOUSANDS of hrs (&euros) on my crafty box-set & I know what's at stake here. Illegal dl is a PLAGUE:((( Í had to push back OSE release date & maximize pre-orders cuz I KNOW that many "so called fans" are waiting for the precious rapidshare files. FUCK FREELOADERS!

I'm not convinced that the people who download stuff would've bought it if it weren't available for free online.
I have a friend, highly intelligent but very unmotivated due to his huge intake of cannabis. He has never bought CDs or movies, ever, for as long as I've known him. He's not really into music but he does download a lot of television and movies. He often makes fun of me for buying my media.. i'm proud of my CD and DVD collection.. no bluray yet though. He has some good points.. both sides do
for example
I bought Halloween 2 on DVD. I go to this friends house to watch it. He has an amazing monitor on his computer so we were going to watch it there. but we weren't able to... the DVD wanted me to install some sony software.. well i don't do that, I think Sony has been caught pushing their root kits before... so i try to play the DVD another way to no avail.. it plays without sound.
after this frustration.. my buddy gets online and queues up the Bluray version of Halloween 2, and has it finished downloading in 2 hours.
so i get punished for buying a DVD. its bullshit really. it doesn't stop pirates.. and like i said.. i don't know a single media pirate that would've bought the media if it weren't available for free..
i feel good buying music though.. i like supporting the artists making interesting music for me to enjoy.. i enjoy the music and i enjoy knowing I'm helping someone be able to live their dream.
now i just want to delete everything i typed and avoid this thread. completely sick of hearing anything and everything about downloading and struggling musicians, labels, yadda yadda yadda.

I don't think there's any correlation here, I consume cannabis regularly, I buy all the music I have, hard copies only + I'm at the top of my industry& have my BS in EE.
