I'm looking forward to some more Soman. I still haven't got the Mask. Sound Pressure is a damn good album and normally I don't like electro-noise.

  7. If Sound Pressure is the latest you heard from him, you're in for a surprise :P

I've been listening to the snippets of Mask on amazon. Sounds great!

Hope it's not as bland and flavorless as Mask though.

  13. @ Tekslave - Agreed! Although Re:Up's new tracks were IMO fantastic, so I'm holding out hope :)

He played one of the new tracks back at Kinetik. The name of the new album actually makes sense if you know about the infuences on it.

Mask bored me to tears. No track was good enough to deserve 3 minutes on it.

  18. Mask is a damn good album, so is Re:Up and the first songs of the new album Noistyle also sound really promising... well, it´s nothing for people who still think that 1986 Electro is state of the art...

C´mon, be open minded... SOMAN is still one of the innovators of the techno/industrial movement. 400% better then all clones which came out lately...

  19. I love Soman, but I was a bit let down by Mask. It was a bit of a soft, uninspired techno deal, combined with the fact that after everyone started following his sound (Combichrist and Noisuf-X being some really popular examples), it had become less interesting. But at least some of the tracks grew on me, I just still think Unleash is the best thing he has ever done, it's six excellent tracks, and a lot more value than any of his other releases.

Re:up didn't have much new, but at least there were two really good new tracks on it, so I'm hoping the new album will have something to offer.

I quite liked Mask, it was different than Sound Pressure and Unleash(which are both killer releases and still sound fresh even they're both 4+ yrs old)

Kolja really kicked it up a Notch with Re:UP and I think the new album will be a Mass Murderer on the Dancefloor>)
