    Through the years it's had some of the best acts, yet they are mostly unknown... here are great examples:

    Gee, all variants on Mephisto Walz, Ataraxia or Clair Obscur. This is impressive how?

    Yeah well I could say the same of 99% of the bands discussed here... Every time someone posts about a new EBM album I could say the same as you did, same with the neo old school stuff or noise etc...

    It is impressive in that it's a scene that's made this sound better than others, that dares to sing in French sometimes and that has a very unique approach to the way this music's made.

    Sorry Bubba but I was trying to discuss music on a music forum, and if we always had responses like yours on here, there would be no need for a forum in the first place.

    There would no need for a forum in the first place... grand thought. Your posts have made me break out Crocosmia to hear how it's done properly. No interest in homage 'artistry', regardless of what language they sing in, emulation is rubbish.

    Again, if we were not allowed to talk about bands that emulate a specific sound on this forum, however unoriginal that sound is, we wouldn't be talking about anything except Deathkey and Haywire !!!!

    Also your grammar and your inability to do a simple copy / paste, hurts my eyes.

    Stop discussing music here folks, it's not appropriate. Get back to discussing Obama, digital drugs, baseball, pets, tron, predators, inception, ipods and a platypus like people do on a proper music forum.

    As usual, the denizens of this place prove that you don't need thumbs to be witty. Keep those sights set low, you'll never be disappointed. Words to live by, eh toe?

    I really enjoy Clair Obscur. Also, Mephisto Waltz " Crocosmia" is a classic. Collector's item for sure.

    Bubba,

    What are your thoughts on Asylum Party?

  14. They are friends of mine, so I may be a bit partial, but I think they're REALLY good, especially because of their background and personalities...

    @vx
    I don't have much information on them though, but I know they have a very personal sound.

    Does anyone remember Speaking Silence ? They were pretty interesting too.

    Also worth mentionning on the French scene are Rajna, Am Ganseh'an, and Elend. Although Elend is not exclusively French, I believe their album Les Tenebres Du Dehors is one of the 10 most important pieces of music ever written.
