Here's the official MIAB thread for the brand new SL forum.
I don't think it's much more than half a year ago, MIAB was announced for the Arvika festival in Sweden, and my response that I didn't care much for their generic electropop sound was met with claims that I need to check them out and give them another chance.
I then got myself a copy of Crossroads, which turned out to be a really amazing album. While Dreamweb is also good, it didn't do it as much to me, though Lost Alone does have some great tracks that match the quality of their third and latest album (Crossroads). So I want to thank the people who pushed me into giving them a second listen, because if I hadn't done that, I would probably have skipped their show at Arvika last Saturday.
And take my word for it, their show was amazing! Their pretty much perfect setlist was delivered with professional expertise with both guitar, bass and drums on stage, giving the feel of a (surprisingly dance-y) live rock show, not to mention the vocals that left me breathless. I've heard of people crying at VNV Nation shows, which is probably something I will never understand, but MIAB really managed to put a lot of emotion into what they did, and everyone in front of the stage was obviously moved by it. They really had the entire audience going, and every person would be jumping up and down at the more upbeat tracks.
Except from the Throbbing Gristle show I saw earlier this year, I've never seen a crowd applauding a band non-stop for so long, wishing for an encore that unfortunately never came (the entire setlist was planned out, with a movie playing in the back through all of it, and a spectacular outro in the end).
They only played for one hour, and in my opinion they could easily have extended their playlist for up to one more hour, with tracks like Into The Night, Light And Dark and Introspection, but considering what I got I couldn't ask for more.
