  1. Just saw that this was announced. I'd sworn off going any higher than Sonar 4 purely for the fact every subsequent release seemed to get more bloated and unstable, but damn, this looks sexy as fook.
Not too sure about all the talk of 'big studio sound', blah-de-blah. Couldn't care less about the 'Pro Channel' business, but overall, I'm very tempted. What do you guys make of this?

i was worried: "i just finished integrating myself with logic and here this is going to tempt me back"

but it mainly looks like an interface overhaul which i never had a problem with anyhow.

Well, I hate Cakewalks price policy for european customers, but aside of this, this DAW I think is going to create quite a stir so good for all. I use FL Studio but competition in this area is going to benefit every DAW.

  4. @ Silikonanswer - Yeah, I think I may, uhhm, 'demo' this before deciding on it. Sonar 4 does me fine for just now =)

there's some neat tweaks in there that would be nice to have if i felt compelled to jump to 64bit, but most of it is overkill for me & i wasn't all that impressed with their version of an 'on the fly sequence arranger' which is the killer app i've been waiting for. i have yet to see anything that works like my old ESQ1.

  7. @ Apertureburn - Yeah, was pretty painless, am in the process of bouncing all the songs on my Macbook Pro to multitrack stems so I can mix 'em in Sonar, but yeah, it runs like an absolute dream on the new comp :)
