R U SRS!?
going up against deadmau5 he'll lose though, so no big deal lol.
Well that reinstates and confirms my previous opinion of the credibility factor in the Grammy awards ceremony.
This is almost as bad as when they were shit shoveling daft punk and the cehmical brothers as the future of electronic music, fat lot of luck that turned out to be for them.
I agree that the Grammys are totally irrelevant. But you can't deny the fact that it's quite impressive to get such recognition on an album and songs you made on a laptop in your bedroom.

Daft Punk were also nominated for a Grammy.
Photek is with his Remix for Daft Punk. Thats pretty cool!

I think this is like the first time in 6 years that Ministry has no nominations.
EDIT: Ok, looks like they didn't have one in 2010 either. But they were on a good run for a while!
first i was mad, then i too some deep breaths and reasoned with myself. Skrillex is terrible, the grammys are terrible, nothing of importance has been lost.
also, @Sanfox69, those happen to be the two biggest electronic music acts of the past 20 years, i don't understand...

"Daft Punk were also nominated for a Grammy. "
Precisely, its dispiccable. I despair, i honestly do.....
So yeah, Daft Punk is an awful band, but SITD is the shit. :P

Yeah, this did not help them score such successful film scores and soundtracks, that's for sure. /sarcasm

^THIS. Mad props to Sonny for making such original and slick sounding electronic music. The grammy's mean nothing to me, but if his popularity soars, it will mean much more music and I am all for that. Been waiting 6 months for this damn album to drop.

-I`m glad we agree.
I was actually going to say something about this a few days ago. Kudos to him, man... that is awesome. It also reminded me of a few threads ago when someone in here said "Everybody acts like dubstep is this new underground thing they just discovered. I hate to break it to you but dubstep is the most commercial thing going." LOL.
Guess whoever said that wasn't so far off, huh?
Fuck dubstep and fuck supporting artists that use Fruity Loops Studio.
Thats my 2 cents.
It's funny that an artist can be nominated for best new artist with an album called "Scary Monsters".
Why didn't Skrillex just for the gold and call it "Dark side of the Moon" or "Thriller"?
But seriously, why all the hate for Daft Punk? Yeah, I understand that they are ,and have been, over hyped; however, I think they are redeemable. I actually like Daft Punk's music, especially that Tron soundtrack and the Alive album. At times I think Daft Punk might actually fit in with what this scene does. Of course I don't like it when they get credit in the mainstream for things this scene does and has done before but I can't deny that they write some really catchy stuff.
