@soillodge thanks man! I have a k2000vx+sampler that was my first musical instrument, got it when I was 17 or 18 (and the rest is history, as they say....) but these days I'm mostly software-based, for numerous reasons. That doesn't mean I don't love hardware though, because I do! But presently, other than my guitar, Maschine, the k2000 and an old ESQ-1, I'm hardware-lite. But I'm starting to eye a nice monophonic analog keyboard, like that crazy yellow Mopho up there....exciting...(but what I REALLY want is an original Prophet 5.....sigh)

  2. That is a good team the K2vx and the ESQ-1. There is just an amazing quality to the Ensoniq synths, I have never heard anything that could replace them. I used to have a Mirage and an EPS, now I just have a trusty VFX-sd. It is just one of those synths that fills in holes and make people go WTF is that sound..heh

But I hear you on wanting a real analog signal in the mix. I always loved working with Analog gear, but I hated maintaining it. A Prophet is going to cost you a chunk of money and a chunk of time-depending on which version you finally end up with. But there is no other way to get that sound :D

How do you like NI Maschine? I was thinking about that when I was shopping for a drum machine controller. I use Battery almost exclusively, but Maschine looked like it would alter my workflow too drastically so I opted for Livid Block-also for the future OSC capability. I used to work with the AKAI MPC's so I get the concept of Maschine. How do you feel it helps you in writing your tracks? Do you use it as a sequencer and production enhancement tool, or just as a sound source and interface?

  3. The Ion and Trinity Rack are still for sale :).

I finally got a quad core and oh my god WHY do I need a hardware rompler? lol. I can now run as many plugins as I want without giving a FUCK about the cpu.

Even better, if you have a Mopho Keyboard and a Tetra, simply running the audio from the mopho to the tetra and connecting them via a cable gives you a five voice synth that's all programmable from the mopho.

Want the mopho keys. I may even still sell the KB and get a TI.

    NI Maschine looks cool.

I've been using M-Audio Trigger Finger + NI Battery but of course not the same thing, the built-in sequencer makes it a groovebox which is one of the most fun instruments to use live.
