  1. Dave Smith Instruments Mopho-300$+Shipping
    Korg TR Rack-300$+ shipping}
    Alesis Ion-500$+ Shipping.

All are in perfect working order with absolutely nothing wrong with them. Only wanting to sell them to buy a virus TI snow, as you've seen my recent gear woes.

  2. I want the Mopho, I have been contemplating buying one for a while. Do you take Pay Pal?

  5. Cool. I'm also in the eastern united states. I'll get around to that soon.

  6. Actually on second thought I need to wait a few days before I sell this stuff.

I just did some stuff to my virus and it's no longer dead. It seems like my problem's going to be solved by simply buying one fucking cable. I might still sell the Mopho though, want to upgrade to the Mopho Keyboard.

  7. ok man, just let me know. I was planning on buying something else in another week and if I do not hear from you I will go ahead with that.

Glad to hear your Virus is ok. I prefer the B over all the versions ;)

  8. No problem. I just want to wait a couple days to see how finances are after I take care of some shit.

  9. Slight update to the topic: The Ion is still for sale. I know Yade was interested in it. Good synth but i've got a craving for a Tetra.

  10. The Ion is beautiful-just does not fit into my size and budget constraints. So far every piece of my Noise Box project has been under or at 400$ and I want to keep it like that. :D

  11. Fair enough man. I've just gotta see how my finances go after I get paid next tuesday to see if I can sell the Mopho. I basically want to immediately replace it with the keyboard and get a Tetra to control from the keyboard via chaining.

Essentially giving me a good five voice analog polysynth.

  12. your p5 borked or just looking for an updated sound?

    Posted 1 year ago #
  13. The former. I'm done with vintage shit for now.

  14. yeah i have no desire to get anything vintage unless spare parts are available and i've taken a couple electronic engineering courses

when working they sound great.. but i'm not really into maintaining shit.. i just want to jam

  15. Exactly why i'm mostly going with stuff from at LEAST the late eighties.

I wouldn't mind a Juno 106 with replaced voice chips or a synth like the 101 that's not known for stability issues though. But there's enough good modern analog to where you don't have to bother with vintage gear if you don't want to.

I'd love a Juno 106...and they are going fairly cheap these days. Though the new mopho keys looks amazing. I'm REALLY tempted by it as I'm mostly playing basslines live and that would be the shit.

  17. Yep man, that's my goal here :).

Even better, if you have a Mopho Keyboard and a Tetra, simply running the audio from the mopho to the tetra and connecting them via a cable gives you a five voice synth that's all programmable from the mopho.

Want the mopho keys. I may even still sell the KB and get a TI.

  18. Cool discussion! I have used all the Juno's and I prefer the Juno 6 or 60 over the 106. I think they have a heavier sound and I would not need the MIDI for how I would use it. The only real vintage piece I am still considering finding though is the OSCar. I just do not think anything comes close to that required sound. I played with one for a whole summer in a pawn shop back in the 90's. They did not what they had, they wanted 800$ for it, out of my budget at that point. Now I wish I would have sold blood, or a testicle or something..heh

I ended up getting an ARP Omni for 250$ Meatiest damn bassline ever. JD used it for Heart & Soul. Also many of the odd synth noises on the albums and live.

I love the idea of linking the Tetra and the Mopho. I initially saw this vid posted on the DSI blog

the 5 voices are Awesome! You can essentially get a massive modular sound right on your desktop.

ahh I want a Mopho Keyboard so bad....I'm not even much of a big-time hardware user, but I love what I've heard of that thing, and it seems the closest we'll ever get to modern-day Pro-One. Dave himself says it "runs circles around the Pro-One..." I love Sequential/DSI, just need to save up for some actual hardware!

  20. Interesting! With your seemingly old school intentions I figured you were a big hardware user.

Hopefully sales on your new album will help you fund some new gear :D The reviews are all glowing. Really a great job all around.
