    Hi. A request for recommendations.

I like Punto Omega and would like to listen to a similar band, but one without the "horror whisper" that they use. I'd prefer actual singing. If there's anything like that out there.

( I also love Dead when I found her, something like that would be great too)

@Wrapped in Wire, I think we have similar taste, I'd like to hear from you. I'd like to hear from anybody interested in answering, too, off course.

    Thanks a lot.

Wait, your looking for an Industrial band with actual singing? LOLLLLLLLLLLLLL

    Good luck my friend.

Unfortunatly, they are few and far between. The new Grendel stuff is going more in a clean singing style than their previous witch-whisper vocal style. I think you would really, really like the band genCAB. They had one of the better releases in past years. And of course bands like Imperative Reaction - Ted has one of the best voices in the biz. Um, Skold is putting out a new release - I like his voice.

It really depends on what your looking for... you mentioned Punto Omega and then Dead When I found Her... that's a huge stretch with alot in between.

  4. Umm..if I may promote myself. I sure as hell do not whisper.

It is not "singing", per say. Just like many of the aggressive bands this is just yelling in the right key :P

@ cyberium. tee- hee. Yes the "scary monster whisper" is pretty ubiquitous.

Absoulutely, DWIFH and P Omega are very different. I guess I'm pretty open in terms of exact styles. The commonality that I'm after is some melody and beat and I guess a harsh or intense style: intense anger, sadness..super-duper! I'm not sure of the exact terminology.

I like alien vampire, die braut, also (the same groups as punto omega stylistically, i'd bet?) Except for that silly "scary monster whisper thing they do" they'd be perfect.

Das Ich is great too and seems to split the difference between that style and DWIFH,

Empty -- underground , edge of dawn --anything that gets you through. Battery Cage --- world wide wasteland is great too, and I guess is closer to DWIFH. All of these are great. Anything like that I'd love to hear about.

I'm kind of rambling... but trying to give a sense of what I'm after.

I will check out GENcab, Imperitive reaction, and the new grendel. Is it out yet? I liked harsh generation, but not the rest of what they put out, I think (have not really had time to listen.) Thanks for your help.

@ solioge and kr, thanks I'll definitely check it out your music. Thanks a lot.

Did my post go up? I don't see it.

the same happened with the o.p. I didn't see it until half an hour after I posted it, hence, a redacted post where I asked what happened to the o.p.

    This forum is real buggy..

So, I'll check back in half an hour to see if my most recent message posted.

ok. so ive been listening to some of the music recomended in this thread

I already knew in strict confidence and empty. i love them. also already knew and liked rabia

here's what i liked out of the recomendations

    panic lift (amazing--really exceptional

    dismantled (amazing --- exceptional

    Mindless Faith (great

i have not yet listened to the posters' original work, so can't weigh in on that.

i did not really like angels on acid, flesh field, system sin, imperative reaction and the others, but will have to listen closely more times to be sure, I guess i like more on the melodic side

its been interesting going through the recommendations. any others, if you have them.

I realy like dead when i found her and empty. and wouldnt mind listening in that direction, as well

    thanks

this is an amazing forum. and great for people naive about this excellent and totally under acknowledged music genre

Since you like DWIFH and Empty, try:

    Nordslacht
Pyrroline (which Nordsclacht have now morped into)

    and maybe:
    Disharmony (some growling vocals)
    Index (predominantly instrumental)

Which Dismantled album do you prefer, the first eponymously titled one or the more recent?

Terrolokaust's last release "God Loves the Violence" has clear voices with somewhat smiliar sound to Punto Omega. Most of the stuff sugested has the horror whisper you're talking about, although the very last single of Imperative Reaction has a clear voice.
