I recently picked this one up. I like it. I like it a lot. I didn't care much for Continuum Ride but I like Quantum Mechanics well enough that it's making me re-access my original opinion of Continuum Ride.

I'm not saying that it's breaking new ground but I think it has some very catchy tunes. Anyone else have an opinion (oh boy....here we go.) ;)

An absolutely gorgeous album, one of elegance and refinement. Without doubt, it makes up for Continuum Ride because it SOUNDS LIKE PITCHFORK, not a series of Santa Hates You outtakes. Go for the limited version, it's quite worth it.

I got the limited version. It's pretty damn cool. I like that in a world of digital downloads and the death of books along with music, Project Pitchfork release a CD in a BOOK!

I haven't listened to it as much as i should have yet but i think it's their best album yet. I think it's the first album of theirs that i actually like every song on. I'm more into the heavy beat stuff so i like Santa Hates You a bit more but both projects have certain traits i enjoy.

  5. I want this album, but I'm going to have to import it like I did with their last two albums. Why doesn't Metropolis release their stuff anymore?

You can get it through Storming the Base or Isotank. I think they both have copies of the limited edition version still. Get the limited version. It's definitely worth it. The extra tracks are damn good.

  7. Ive been delaying getting this because I find the last few PP albums just sit in my shelf unplayed. Nothing will beat the old stuff like "Io" or "Entities" so its hard for me to move on I guess. This is the first PP album ive yet to rush out and pick up at release.

are the vocals as horribly monotone as they were on the past two albums? And using that same awful gritty vocal distortion on every track? I LOVED peter's vocals back in the day of IO, alpha/omega, and even up through Inferno, too....but this recent stuff, I swear he forgot how to sing a vocal melody....but I haven't heard QM yet....

Quantum Mechanics is their best album in a long time. It improves on the last two. Still has the alarming mis-pronunciation thing going on that we all know and love. 'Critical mass' and 'chamber' this time. Well worth buying nonetheless.

If you didn't like the very monotone growl of the last 2 albums then this might not be your thing. Still, I think he does do a little more with his voice than he did on Continuum Ride.

There are definitely moments in Quantum Mechanics where you can hear the 'old voice' shine through, but it's mostly more of the distorted growl. As far as the album goes, it is leaps and bounds beyond Continuum Ride.

Also, the artwork for the 2disc is light years better than the last two. There aren't as many pictures of the band making silly faces.
