Yeah.....Peter Hook seems a little off his rocker. I find it interesting in that it reminds me of Jarboe doing "Love will Tear Us Apart" with the Swans but.....aside from that, I'm disturbed by it.

Nothing wrong with making versions... if they are good. But these new versions are horrible. The voice just don't match with the songs, even if the vocalist is a good one. I have the same feeling when I hear some clasic pop song covered by a clasic opera singer, it sounds horrible.

  5. Still cannot get it: You have the remaining members of Joy Division aka New Order: A group of highly-talented musicians who wrote music history (Joy Division; New Oder: Blue Monday": best-selling 12" ever; successfull song with England`s soccer/football team) and they all act like drama queens when interacting one with another.

It seems to me that the drama is mostly on Hooky's side. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Peter Hook but damn, it doesn't seem like he can work with anybody as of late.

It's not just everyone in New Order that has problems with him. The whole Freebass thing was a debacle. To make this point clearer, Bernard and Stephen seem to get along just fine in Bad Lieutenant. So it seems like a Peter Hook problem.

    TACOS!

I really respect Peter Hook as a bassist but I saw him DJ once and it was pathetic. He's a knob-twisting fake who plays pre-recorded sets, it's so fucking obvious.

He seems to be a bit of a prima donna too. Just before New Order announced the official break up, he started giving interviews saying that the band was over while Sumner maintained that it wasn't.

What was really happening was that Sumner and the others didn't want to disband New Order and simply wanted to continue without Peter Hook, who on the other hand was sick of the band and the other members but couldn't "allow" the band to continue without him. For some reason he thought that he was the most important part of New Order.

So that being said, he's a great musician but as a person he seems like a total douche.

  8. I included Hooky in the drama queen crew :-) It is just sad that they cannot get along.

I think Hooky (and the rest) has a right to do whatever he wants, without having to explain himself to anyone. And I'm sure getting on with Barney is no walk in park. Stephen seems to be the only relaxed one. Also, that Bad Lieutenant debut is far less than the last two New Order LPs, in my opinion. If it's any indication of where Bernard wanted to go (soft, mediocre AOR), I do not blame Hooky one bit for taking a bow from working with Barney. Though, supposedly, the fallout occurred during the "Joy Division" documentary.

The cover of "Atmosphere" sounds like it is being re-worked by Sigur Ros, or at least by the singer of Sigur Ros.

  11. I do not really care who starts the flame war within New Order/Ex - Joy Division. And I cannot judge who is right or wrong. From an outsider“s view it is just a sad circumstance.
