@Dogmeat: for me thh most concern about the ES-1 is its 32KHz Sample quality....I am not sure if it was Implant or 32Crash, who performed with the ES-1....and well..it sounded...shitty as hell...dull,compressed to fuck, and mumbling....so for drums only and some screeches ok...also if you want to use it as a sequencer for MIDI Instruments...but not with tonal samples.....

@ Yade
You might be right about the ES-1. I had one too and loved the low quality of the samples. It gave a very old school feel.
Also, Dirk Ivens rocks the ES-1 when he performs as Sonar and since Sonar is sheer Noise, it fits just perfectly.

@dodd: we use the ES-1 for all our drums in Jesus and the Gurus...the Lo-Fi quality makes it imho perfect for dirty sounds...but when you try to trigger whole basslines etc with it, it imho offers a too low samplerate for this.

hm, not necessarily, we made a song recently, with a very daf-esque vibe, a basic rhythm, you know, the tup-tah-tuptup-tah type, the bassline was every 16th, and notes were done by pitching the knob, all done in the es-1. it sounded a bliss, all of the band listened to it, and everybody except the singer felt like we were unnecessary...a truly beautiful moment....
i like those 32KHz, i know, too little to sound hi-fi, too much to sound cool, but fuck it, with some craftiness, it is not that badPosted 1 year ago # -
Yamaha RS7000 is the best for in the fly sequencer (pattern based sequencer)and grid seuqencer(like the old roland stuff) and also for an more deep sequence (linear sequencer )!
Including . sampler , beatbox, and a lot of knobs You can use it to controlle anything!Posted 1 year ago #
