>>Ok, first of all this is industrial rave and not terror banana music. I'm not sure there's a defining factor in the subgeneres especially since every know-it-all likes to use the term "terror banana music" to describe any harsh ebm band they don't like.<<
Just don´t use the terms "industrial" and "EBM" to describe this music.
You can use "rave", "terror", "harsh" and "banana" and if you like choose any other fruit ...Posted 1 year ago # -
But not MELON cause this is futurepop :D Also I find this a bit unfair to the fruits to be honest.

the pictures scared me. Going to scream in horror in the corner of the room now...

The term "Terror-Banana" would probably not have come to mind with such force if it weren't for the fact that the band has "Terror" in their name.
Regardless of what we say here, they will most likely be very successful.

"Regardless of what we say here, they will most likely be very successful."
why ?
...and no this is not banana its rave

I dunno, I could list off a number of entirely subjective reasons why I think the style of music they play is awful, but at the end of the day, more power to them if they're doing well. Time will tell if they make it big, I suppose. I just don't see what it is that people like about their music.
And PS @ Mysteriis - What makes them 'rave'? Not trying to argue, more just a bit confused. The last time I heard 'rave' being used as a musical adjective was back in the early days of the Prodigy, and I can't for the life of me see the similarity, other than both are danceable and electronic.

Time will tell, but I think time is not on their side ...

I think they have an image that sells and that's all you really need. Call me cynical but I honestly think that an image is all a band needs anymore. Sadly, music is secondary these days.
I don't prefer it like that but that's the way it seems to be.
Since Terror Error know how to record their music well despite what anyone thinks of the style, it's only a matter of time before they reach the pinnacle of success a band can achieve in that style.
Give them a couple of months (even a year) and they'll be signed to a well known scene label.

@ Divider - "Since Terror Error know how to record their music well despite what anyone thinks of the style"
I would contest this, but then again, it's quite possibly a subjective thing.Posted 1 year ago # -

@ RP: Well early Prodigy was quite good and cannot be compared really with the "rave" style I mean. But it´s the same like EBM/Indus, I think techno (from which rave is a undergenre) had also the better moments in the 90ties. Rave is also what is played on the loveparade and simmilar big events (at least they say it is) - but i am not an expert in these genres of techno, so maybe rave is wrong. But who cares... when rave is the wrog word ok, I don´t claim to be techno/rave expert - just wanted to note that it doesn´t sound like terrorbanana (which is the SL term for hellectro and terror ebm).

You got your genres all mixed up sir. Trsut someone who lived through the rave movement in the 90's in Europe, rave is not a subgenre of music. Techno and is subgenres (trance, progressive, hardcore etc...) is what is played in a rave.Posted 1 year ago # -

Boring as fuck.. But hey, they made an album and people seem to like it. Its like industrial music for kids. But OMG i hated the synth leads. And normally i love cheesy post eurodance synth leads. And the drums, dont the seem a little too straight, like their is no life in them.

rave is a genre and wiki is the absolute truth BECAUSE it's on the internet :-p
Like I said, trust someone who was there...ME.

I feel that it needs to be said: Reaching #1 on the VF charts requires between 1 and 4 sales many weeks.

anyone who says this shit is anything other than, well...complete shit...is never allowed to complain about the scene. people complain about how bad the music or clubs or whatever about the scene, and then say this kind of shit is "not that bad" and wonder why the scene is lame. im not syaing this shit shouldnt exist or whatever, but it should not be affiliated with industrial in any way. call it "rave" or "makina" or "cyber" or whatever the fuck just get it the fuck out of industrial
