You know, it's flippantly snide statements like this which make this shithole of a 'scene' the dud that it is. You already have your copy, don't you?

  2. What the hell are you talking about? I'm trying to figure out what you meant by your statement. Maybe it's the negative attitude from the likes of you that makes the scene a dud or whatever you feel it is.

Honestly, I don't think pirates care about some pointless print card included in the retail version (providing that IS what you were referring to) - if they cared about stuff like that, they'd want a physical copy regardless. But personally I'm a sucker for that kind of extra stuff, even if I'll never look at it again - so I'm glad to hear they included it for preorders.

And no, I don't have my copy yet, I doubt they'll send it out before around the 12th.

Sumez makes some FANTASTIC comments, but he's definitely not a freeloader.

Shit, it's more than those cards. There's 2 extra tracks on the pre-ordered version. Sweet!

I want this album so badly. Does anyone know when the pre-orders go out or how long it takes them to get to the states? Yes, I'm that anxious.

And further details to be revealed upon release. Their time to arrive (depending on your coast) ranges from 3-5 business days.

    Thank christ it's friday.

I think I'll preorder this. £11 is only about $17, surprisingly cheap to get a CD sent from the UK to anywhere in the world!

But the special preorder is through portion-control.net, not sigmedia.us...

And you don't think pirates will get hold of that?? :P

But pirates aside, those are great news to me as well.
And yeah, their prices were crazy cheap. Like I already mentioned, I ordered it together with Crop, which cut off another £5 from the total. I think I'm getting a T-shirt as well, I've been digging Portion Control a LOT lately. I think theirs must be the best comeback of any old school band in this scene.

According to my paypal receipt, that's £9 for the cd and £2 for postage anywhere in the world, so UK sales are effectively subsidising international postage.

Why, is £9 above average for a CD over there? I wouldn't expect it to be, compared to what CDs cost in Canada.

EDIT: Or I guess I might have asked, is £2 way in excess of what postage within the UK will actually cost them? That I could see being true, I guess.

Usually CD coming from outside the U.S. to the U.S. can be quite costly. I've noticed that the price is usually around $22 to $26 to get a new release from Great Britain or Europe; and that's if you're lucky.

@Sumez: I wasn't saying that pirates wouldn't get the new tracks along with the regular album. I was just commenting that we get 2 extra tracks. Woohoo!

It's weird, the only thing I find myself listening to lately is Portion Control, NTRSN, and Nitzer Ebb's Industrial Complex. Everything else that has come out lately seems out of touch or missing something. Well, that's not the entire truth, I like the new Yendri too.

I don't know, it seems like this represents a rebirth or paradigm shift in the scene....maybe I'm wrong. What I do know is that older FLA and Leaether Strip really sounds good right now.

  14. £9 is less than HALF of what a new CD usually costs here. As for imports from small-time labels like this scene, a new album is typically £13.5 ($24)

£9 is cheap for a CD in the UK but £2 is pretty expensive for postage within the UK. Music Non Stop charges £1.25 for first class post and £1 for second class.

The moral of this story folks is not to break down the costs in your paypal receipt...

Well, no ones's got a copy until now, so i'm pretty sure that, like others mentioned above, we'll all have to wait til Friday when "Violently Alive" is scheduled for release. Then they'll start sending...

  20. I'm hoping they'll be a few days early to make sure we receive them in time :)
