A friend gave me Werk01 many, MANY years ago.
To this day, I've not listened to it, even though I've moved house with it 3 times.
Should I give it a go?

Oh, I have your first album, I thought you were called NETZ.werk- you were on Flatline with HMB and Mlada Fronta. Really good stuff. I did not realize you went over to Art of Fact. I will check this out as well as the other 2 albums that discogs say I missed.

whoa... fucking NETZ is still around.. and on WERK 04... i have both werk01 and 02.. first song i ever hearde was atlantis... man these guys were so badass... but no one ever talked about them... and i lost contact with whatever i had discovered them through.. i think i stole their first album off of audio galaxy satalite... funny.. i stole so many albums... and bought them all afterward...
but i really forgot about netz.. and these guys made amazing music... i guess i need to check out werk 03 and buy some new discs

yes... NETZ was - let´s say - a little lost. ArtOfFact did a good job in america, but it was rather difficult to get info about NETZ in europe.
now we are (nearly) back. new german label, new cd and some other activities :-)
btw we know that the "name thing" with NETZwerk was a problem. that´s why we started to give additional names to our cd´s (e.g misgiving transmitter) and downgraded the "werkXX" a little.

personally, i always.. always, really fucking liked the albums named.. werk01. werk02. truth be told... that naming scheme influenced me in a way.. profoundly.
its odd... and an incomplete representation of what it means to me... but in an attempt to surmise the feelings involved... with titles like WERK 01.. o werk 02.. it focuses the emphasis on the tracks and the materials themselves.... its very simplistic... rigid and to the point.. very dry... sterile... plain, but most imnportantly... honest
it has been a fucking long time since i've listened to datenautobahn... atlantis... and many tracks i can't remember the names of... but for $3 each.. i will have them soon enough.
i'm excited just to get some solid fucking music that i almost forgot about.. and there is a new album coming out? too fucking cool

netz is one of the best bands/projects ever IMO - good description from Tsarik, too. the albums are well thought-out, well-executed, and still fresh after a decade or so.
hey - 2.98 dollars at Storming The Base... this price is unbeatable... even for us! :-) so if you are thinking about buying a NETZ cd - do it now! you will never get a new hardware-copy cheaper, and i am sure that NETZ cd´s will get rare, when they are sold out.
some weeks ago i found a "offer" for werk02 on ebay: 29 dollars! (i hope this guy found no one to buy the cd!)
i have a question... as some of you know and like our music :-)
if we would release something like a best of NETZ... which songs from w01 w02 and w02 should be found on it? (there are no plans for this at the moment, but still we are interested in your opinions!!!)
