  1. Yes, as the subject says. So here in the States we have a cable channel called "Weatherscan". Nothing but your local weather 24/7. Theres no real "person"; its just pictures of the weekly/daily weather and a voice that comes in that says "YOUR LOCAL FORECAST" or "THE DOPPLER RADAR" etc.

But throughout all of it is a steady and constant stream of songs. All instrumental. The fucked up thing is these goddamn fucking songs stay stuck in my head all day. Some sound like Orbital (no joke) and I end up humming the shit or feeling unable to forget the goddamn songs.

ive got the channel on pretty frequently (Morning before work, night before bed, randomly throughout the day). And my kid who is terrified of thunderstorms, knows how to pick up the remote and goto the weather channel (Hes 4) to see what will be going on for the day.

At any rate, I was amazed to find a guy has COMPILED all the goddamn fucking weatherstation songs into MP3s and a CD set hes selling!!! So you can go online, click the song selections and hear like ANY song on the weather channel.

Track 24 is the Orbital sounding track I always end up hearing when Im turning the channel on:

Anyone else deal with this insane shit?

I know the spambots are a plague on SL, but I didn't know that you could actually be turned into one!

    I'm scared....

  3. it's an interesting channel. I used to hear daft punk's tron soundtrack on it earlier this year. last year and before I've heard other house DJs' stuff.

Isn't this just the modern equivalent of the half-remembered test-card and incidental music from their childhood that Boards Of Canada based their career around recreating?

Show your 4 year old the MUTE button as well? Things could be worse than vanilla techno for sure. What if they played nothing but Jimmy Buffett & Phish Muzak instead?
