Saw this posted on Ministry's facebook page today.
Ministry to return if they get 100,000 comments on the video apparently.
At the moment there's like 300, so maybe with time and a shitload of comments we will hear a new Ministry album.

Or maybe Al just wants to get everyone's hopes up for the lulz.

"Ministry to return if they get 100,000 comments on the video"

How absurd. Why don't they grow a pair and just release an album and see what happens instead of playing childish games with their fans online? WTF is the world coming to?

Maybe I'll buy their album if Ministry posts 1000 comments on my SoundCloud profile. So there...

The world is, and has always been, a silly place.

Anyway, Al said the same thing on the Alex Jones (!) show a few days ago. He says he has stopped puking blood every morning since he finally quit smoking, so now he can sing again. I think this is very good news :)

I guess what I don't understand is why a band with such history and accomplishments needs to bother with silly, gimmicky tactics like this. Perhaps the audience they are targeting their next album for now has no problems with having their collective intelligence insulted.

Do you really want a new Ministry album? Seriously I think they have run their course and it is not really worth it. DO you want to a 50 year old former heroin addict jumping around on stage singing about the Bush? Come on get with it.

gimmicky marking tactics... that instantly brought to mind, who else but the timeless, skinny puppy and nine inch nails. the biggest industrial bands there are, both of whom have quite a history of accomplishments...

Yes. I liked all the previous albums, probably I would like the next.

Yes. That would be awesome :)

I went to the Chicago reunion and I really think it is best to let sleeping dogs lie. They had their glory it is time to move aside for some new blood.

  14. Gotta adamit that I loost Ministry´s tracks after another album with 600000.00000 guitars in it :-) Maybe I should dive into their back catalogue.

"Twitch", "The Land Of Rape And Honey", "The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste" and "Psalm 69" are classics.

Oh, and for the tough guys fraction one song from the early Minstry:

I know that isn't Al, but the video was posted on Ministry's official facebook page and said:

    Ministry
    UNCLE J Breaking News!
    From our Pal Uncle J....

But hey, maybe Al just saw it and posted it to fuck with everyone, who knows.

@ SVII-5AM ROTFLMAO I was thinking that too! Frankly, if this cheeseball is Al's good buddy be afraid, be very afraid. Perhaps their next album will be Without Sympathy and it will be a flaming Gay sequel to With Sympathy. I'd buy that too!

@ r3mote NIN didn't need gimmicks like that. They had their videos playing and posters hanging in Tower Records and other huge consumer music chains. They had all the goodies corporate marketing could buy.

Honestly I lost interest in SP after the original lineup was gone so I have no idea what their marketing gimmicks may or may not have been.

I saw Ministry a few years back in Norfolk VA with the Revolting Cocks. Revco was the shit! Ministry not so much. I left early after my ears started bleeding from too much treble-hyped, mid-scooped guitar.

Ministry is not coming back. The only thing Al has in the works is the Buck Satan album. I do wish they would release the FIX movie on dvd with all the extra footage as an added feature. Of course they haven't even released In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up on dvd yet so i don't expect it to come out any time soon. Personally, i haven't liked a Ministry release since 1992 but i realize that's just my personal taste and i can't expect an artist to cater me when it comes their own creative outlet.
