Practically every synth has it's sweet spots where they make a great sound...and often a unique sound.
I'll always say, have a play, see what works for the music you want to make. If a synth inspires you to write with it, all the better.
If I had a choice out of those listed I'd list them in order of preference:
- Roland JP8080
- Waldorf microwave XT / Micro Q
- Novation SuperNova / KS rack
- Korg MS2000r
The JP is a good workhorse and it's got some great trance leads. The Waldorf, great filters, grittier sound. Novation, the SuperNova I'd prefer over the KS but the KS is pretty good. The KS is all over Everybody Hates You by Combichrist. And the Korg, it's ok, wouldn't be my personal choice but it's ok.
