  2. Yeah it sucks. Good thing is that there ARE good hardware alternatives if I don't want to track down another KB.

Honestly i'm thinking of giving the Waldorf Blofeld a shot.

Blofeld I'm quite tempted by. It's got a nice dirt that I like. Though damn, I have gear lust for a Mopho keys.

  6. Same here. My list of shit to get is Mopho keys, Tetra, Blofeld, and maybe a Virus TI.

Though I have to say, I'm a bit pissed off that the prototype was 3 octaves and had more knobs on it. http://allformusicians.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/11.jpg

Compared to the final version http://www.sweetwater.com/images/items/1800/MophoKB-xlarge.jpg

  8. nice find, Modulate. never saw that prototype before.

when it comes to monophonic synthesizers i just could not get a DCO synth... a lot of the punch a mono is known for is lost i think when using DCOs, but that isn't to say that the mopho is punchless.

i would've probably been interested if they went with the larger prototype, stuck 5 voices in it and called it the Mophizifth... then if you wanted more voices you could partner it with a tetra.... to me, it does't make much sense to partner the mopho with the p08 since it doesn't have the sub oscillators.

i'd really like to hear a mopho+tetra combo in unison.. is there even an option for it?

  9. The thing about the mopho is there's an option to turn off the digital control of the oscillators as much as you want.

Not only that but if it's bass specifically you want DCO synths are preferable because many synths with more than one VCO get phasing issues.

For me, when we play live I'm mostly playing mono basslines anyway, so that would be just about perfect...nice size, looks good, sounds good. Not bothered about 4-5 parts and if I'm recording it's less of a problem.

    Hence the current *WANTS*. :)

  11. @Tsarik- you mean the Mophizzle my nizzle!

I loved that prototype version. DSI is good for that if you watch the news section/blog. Everyone drooled at the Linndrum II [http://www.davesmithinstruments.com/products/linndrum2/index.php]

Now the new project is not even called the Linndrum [it is called the Boomchik] Who knows what it will end up looking like.

Here is that poly chain video for Tsarik:
