    @hollowman there are rather cheap chinese lab power supplies now, and they are good, i've got the ATTEN brand (but this, i guess, means nothing, same factory probably produces several other brands whose stickers it pushes onto same boxes) and i am very satisfied, yeah it is heavy as fuck, and loud as hell, but it is stable, got 3 different outputs, 2 bipolar, variable 0-30V at 5A each, and 1 supply for 5V, don't know the amperage for that one, i think the company i contracted for paid it some 160 eur, and i got to keep it on job completion, but i guess it should be cheaper

    @dogmeat; sounds like a nice supply. The one I have here is an open frame Power One +/-18 unit. These can be set for almost any voltage by changing a resistor or two as long as you don't exceed the heatsinking ability of the chassis. I did the same thing for my console's APU (I have to keep a window fan on it though ;-)). I'll have this thing working for me tonight. My homemade thing with the problem seems as though it needs a new opamp. The opamp that biases the positive regulator seems to be latching up.

    Mike, i don't want to disconnect the entire patch panel

    VC0s 1 and 2 have 3 CV inputs. CV1 in, CV2 in and Ext. Mod In which has an actual attenuator control on the synth.

    both VCOs have their own CV1, CV2 and Ext. Mod In patch points.. but CV1 and CV2 on both VCOs are connected via a shorting bar... so for pitch data i only need to patch into either of the VCOs CV1 or CV2 patch point

    what i would like to do is to be able to use the CV2 patch point independently on each VCO for additional modulation since i have external attenuators...

    it seems simple... remove the shorting bar... but i have no idea what a shorting bar looks like.. or any other analog components... so i wanted to get an expert's advice before i open this sucker up

    @Tsarik; Did the module come with a manual containing schematics? That would be a huge help if so....
    Without schematics the circuits may have to be traced out with a continuity probe.

    there is a little schematic that shows what i'm after... the way it is written in the manual it is saying "you can connect them" ... but it came connected.

    i don't have a scanner.. maybe my phone can take a picture that will be legible and i'll upload it
