LFO love

  1. i figured Michael and anyone into dubstep or modulation using LFO's would be interested in this

it will work with softsynths, hardware, and already recorded material. for 25 dollars it is pretty fucking badass and really expands my modulation options

so far I've only used it to send CC on CC1 which is the modwheel CC for my future retro XS.. so i can then use all kinds of tempo synced, insane modulations to effect the cutoff or any other parameter on the synthesizer and since the XS has CV outs i can also use this for my SEM

i was looking at pricey analog modular modules with tap tempo and shit... and there are plenty of benefits of using analog.. areas that this software can't touch.. but it requires 1,000s of dollars in modules

the price/function ratio of this handy piece of software is crazy... this isn't just for dubstep... the modulation options are only limited really by your imagination

i'm loving the lfo and step lfo in Silent Way for the modular: tempo synced morphing of wavetables is delicious.

that and the e350 in lfo mode. has more of a random feel and is good for modulating drones at 1 cycle over 13 min. i need more osc to use this on though.

  4. an expert sleepers module and silent way is in my future for sure

Yade, i don't need another synth. i was impressed with this as a cheap utility that can increase the value of any hardware synth with midi across the board... and even ones without midi as in my case

  5. AH, looks interesting. I do not buy anything though without hearing a demo first. Josh, let me know when you have something up that uses it.

I know a guy who does some glitchy stuff using this, it's a great plugin

  7. k, i patched something up on the SEM really quick

lfo tool is controlling filter cutoff and FMing VCO2 which is sync'd to VCO1

i twisted some knobs.. the lfo could've been manipulated live but i'm stoned.. now that i think about it... i probably should've done that instead of just letting it run >,<

  9. i don't know if its all in my head or not... and it could be because of my patching.. but i feel like there is a little something lacking... maybe i suck with the software but i'm thinking i like the sound of my previous purely analog modulations better

  10. Your base sounds are really nice but I am not sold on the plug in effect. It does not seem to do anything I cannot do right now with Reaktor or TAL and editing the LFO sweeps myself.

  11. yeah. i could draw the modulation myself. kinda tedious. i'm probably not doing them any favors with my crappy demos of it.. i haven't gotten very deep into it yet.

i needed another LFO though. and i wanted one easily sync'd to tempo. my XS can sync it's LFO but its kinda wonky how it does it.. but wonky in a good way because i've gotten great use out of its oddness

having multiple tempo sync'd LFOs gives me good CV options for the Quad Plague Bearer.. i really like using the plague bearer on drums with tempo sync'd modulations
