    Shots for all !

I don't know about the rest of you on these forums but I really hope that 2010 is a whole new start for this scene. By this I mean a new sound. It's been what now 5 something years of this current 4/4 terrorbanana industrial sound. It's time it died, and I hope that the artists themselves can see how dead this style is.

I really look forward to hearing what the artists have to bring to the table in 2010, I just pray it's not more of the same old turkey.

I couldn't agree more,i'm not really a fan of what is happening in the scene at the moment. There is always exceptions, some do it well and i've heard some great stuff but a good chunk of it is really hard to even listen too.I know the new Decree for me is a fresh response to what is happening in the scene at the moment, too bad it isn't out yet and i'm not sure when it will be out.I'd also like to think that the new Unit 187 is also something a little different.Chris and myself are working hard to get these out early in the new year, hopefully people are ready for a change.

why not step out of your way and explore another genre. if you are bored with the current scene music, there are hundreds and thousands of amazing tracks out there.

I'm with Dmyer, but I'll even go so far as to say that 95% of the "artists" in this genre have marginal talent if ANY talent for making music. There needs to be a Great Flood to wash them from the aether. Sooo much static. And the music is mostly about negativity and bullshit...just look at the effort and attention thrown at Haywire's baiting of Milhouse Van Nachtmar? I see some of the shit that people rave about on here and just shake my head when I hear the same ole garbage. What this genre has become has largely turned me off of electronic music as a whole. This will likely be my last post here, though I may still show up at Metro. I've been over it for a long time. It's beyond needing to die, it needs to be killed, dug up, staked through the heart, immolated, with the ashes buried in concrete. The real innovative stuff isn't called industrial/elektro/EBM/TBM, etc, but is more in line with the original appeal and aesthetic of what attracted me to it in the first place.

    Farewell. I'm changing the channel.

Oh I have, but something just keeps me coming back to this scene, maybes it's because this style of music has been the majority of what I listen to for the last decade. Industrial is staler then POP music. There's been more of a change in sound in light fluffy top 10 POP music then industrial lately. Industrial used to be ever evolving but when you can actually sit there and seriously say that a Lady Gaga album has more diversity on it then anything in industrial it's really a sad day, and this has been the case for the last 5 years ever since the terrorbanana sound came out. Sure there's an album every now and then that strays from the mold but far to many adopt it.

  10. So....Noah's Industrial Arc is going to be the biggest thing since Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat?

I checked out your my space and great stuff, love the track "Broken Heart Cliche" and nice cover of Mercy Seat, i like it.Like i said there is always exceptions.

I really just miss the sound that got me into the scene in the first place,I'm not bored with the scene it would be nice to hear some fresh sounds that aren't dominated by the 4/4 oontz.

Currently i am busy writing music which could be described as a mixture between breakcore/broken beats and easy listening/lounge. Have a listen:

I don't think it is original, but i like making it.

As for terror and the likes: With the emergence of the utter and totally SHITE band Ext!ze we can safely assume this genre dead and buried and move on. That crap band was just a step too far. Hellektocrap would be a better title for that horrible single.

I could see myself popping that on and lounging around the house.

Extize however is complete garbage and is exactly the type of shit I was referring to in my first post.

That's what I've been saying all along (i.e since Y2K). It's time for SKILLED musicians to step up to the plate & bring the alternative electronic scene back to its glory days.

Yeah, those ugly crappers have a album out. I believe the title is "FAILOUT NATION". :D

Yesterday i was talking with Jos from Grendel on that we should get as much known industrial and EBM acts to write a lounge or easy listening song for a compilation to scare the hell out of the gasmask-wearing crew. :D Maybe we should really do it. "Soothing sounds from the dark underground" out in 2010 on Metropolis. Muhahahahah.

I like it when hellektro bands try to dissociate themselves from the trance-flavored scene. It's like giving up on your child :P

Oh I know, I read your posts and check out the stuff you recommend. I got out of djing because of this type of music. It was fine for a while but it just got stale. There's plenty of talent still out there it's just buried underneath tons of rubble.

I still hope 2010 will be a good year though.
