I'm thinking of buying a Korg Sigma, I found one quite cheap (200 euro)... Anyone used this synth ? I want to use it with the new band I'm setting up, which only uses analogic gear. We're playing space-rock/proto-industrial stuff mixed with some stoner-doom, and I need some classic cheap synth able to deliver a decent amount of filtered noise... Do you think the Sigma would suit ?
I also found a Roland JX8P, complete with the programming box, I know I shouldn't hesitate between this and the Sigma ; but the JX8P sounds maybe a bit too cold and clinical to me, I need something dirty with a kind of crude fatness, and it feels to me the Roland is better for nice ethereal pads... Am I wrong ?

Sigma is great for that spacy prog rock sound. It you get too noisy though with the doom metal it may not fit the bill. I do not think it is a meaty/nasty as the Roland Juno 60 for example. Or even the MS series.
The JX8p is a good synth. Solid analog sounds and yes, it would be good for pads and things. But you have to watch out for any of the synths that had "membrane", buttons. They broke down pretty easily and made it very difficult to navigate.
I am not saying don't get them. I think you can pretty much do anything with any synth. Just make sure you get the gear cheap if it is not in top condition. Because you will spend a lot of money and trouble maintaining.
