OBviously I don't *need it* especially with more drum sounds for my S6000 than I'll ever use in my life in addition to the TR-707 ....but this thing is really cool sounding and has some wicked deep program-ability!

Also, lustful if weird device with a neat percussion synth (not demoed here though)

Interesting sounding little synth for an FX box!
Here is a demo of the drum synth (wish the guy would stop talking)

it looks a lot more flexible & deeper programmability than the other rack drum modules of it's era like Alesis D4 & Emu Procussion.

i think learning to program synths on my Roland D-20 cured me of ever lusting after any menu diving 2x16 LED gear again.

  3. when it comes to percussion i just really love battery3 + samples. i've made some of my own and usually use those to layer with the more professional ones if i need to noise em up any.. i just really like the pro ones because they run em through $10k of analog gear and they just sound insane.

if i were to get any drum hardware... the DSI Tempest is the most exciting i can think of

@Tsarik I bet that Microwave can make some interesting synthetic percussion. Come to think of it I never have tried making percussive type patches for my CZ-1 or VZ-1. The CZ has some good ones in it's factory set. I'll have to reverse engineer them and try to brew some of my own.

And I have yet to scratch the surface of the MP-7's drum sample library. From the demos in the machine it seems to have a number of interesting kits. Now that I have the machine setup for Midi triggering my other gear I kinda forgot it makes sound itself!
