  1. Just found this - Periphery's guitarist Jake Bowen also does some solo electronic music with a very glitchy, minimal IDM type vibe. There's not much there right now, but what is there is rather beautiful. Fans of Gridlock, Telefon Tel Aviv, or any of the current crop of artists on Tympanik might like this :)

Is good but why does good music always pops up when I just used all my Emusic credits.

  4. thanks for the heads up. sounds pretty good, especially 'versa'. i wouldn't mind listening to this guys music this summer.

but. there's always a but. i think the saturation point has been reached and breached for this kind of music. for example, currently (i'm sure this will change in time), there's little to distinguish this guy's stuff from many other musicians.

  5. @ r3mote - You could be right, the whole 'clicks and cuts' technique is by no means a new or underused thing these days, however, IMO his guitar playing has a very distinctive character to him that makes his stuff worthy of mention :)

  6. absolutely, i'd recommend this guy to anyone and everyone who didn't like the heavily shoegaze oriented direction mike wells took Bitcrush in.

sort of a bitcrush for electro wonks (a terrible descriptor but. hell with it, the music will speak for itself)
