To me it would include any band doing industrial dance/ebm style OUTSIDE of the cyber cheese rivet realm. Not necessarily a band trying to sound like Nitzer Ebb or whatever, but anything that is being promoted and marketed outside what we've grown accustomed to

I was expecting IndieBM to be indie black metal, which is also a thing now.
I knew about Tense before anyone considered them an indie band, I think. Tried ordering one of their discs by sending them cash in the mail (it felt like too little money to bother converting to a money order), which they claimed to have never received. Kinda lost interest in them by that point anyway, so I just let it go. If I ever see a Tense record in a store, I might pick it up, but I guess if they're "indie" now that'll never happen. :P
Didn't Tense get their big break by opening for Nitzer Ebb? Do people in the indie scene listen to Nitzer Ebb now?

Yes, Tense did open for Nitzer Ebb back in 09. They've put a hell of a show in Houston that even Doug McCarthy came to the middle of the crowd to watch them perform.
I didn't think they sound like NE, DAF or any of their clones. IMO they sounded more like a cross between FLA Total Terror era with F242 No Comment era with a hint of Skinny Puppy Remission era.

Thanks for the correction but I only see the term "Neo-Oldschool" being applied to NE and DAF clones specifically. To me at least Tense did not sound like those bands but like the aforementioned bands, hence "revivalist".

Ornox you always teach me with your amazing discoveries. I know Tense and White Car. Gatekeeper is great too. What about Sleep Museum? It is very dark and not too dancey but reminds me to Joy Division + Klinik.
Maybe these bands don't count but I think NTRSN and Florence Foster Fan Club are very indie in their aesthetic.
I'd also like to add the detachments to the official indie-EBM list as well even though they are more like a post-punk band.
