Crispy commented: "I just picked up a new CD by a group called Liquid Divine based on a recommendation from someone in this thread. Wow, they are fantastic. They're a bit of a mind.in.a.box clone, but I am really enjoying this album. And if anyone out there is a Seabound fan, track #3 has vocals from Frank Spinath."

Liquid Divine's Autophobia is awesome. Like Crispy, I saw some recommendations here and got the CD. I listened to the CD for two straight weeks in my car. This CD has me wanting to get their first two CDs now. I can see how they're compared to MIAB with their robotic vocals in some songs like Ghost, iHuman, Cocoon, and Want. In other songs, i.e. Redshift and Planet Zoo, there's a slight robotic effect on his natural vocals in the chorus that sounds like it's a duet. Plus, the music is quite varied and seems pretty well layered and intricate.

As I mentioned in some other threads, I'm really impressed with In Strict Confidence's new album along with De/Vision's new album.

Destroid's new EP is very good, too. I love the musical direction where Daniel is taking that project.

MIAB--R.E.T.R.O I like it, but I just mainly dig the vocal songs.

Sadman--9th and Last Life It took a while to grow on me. It's not as good as their debut album, but it's a pretty solid release.

@S80, I forgot that Code 64 released their new single. It's a shame that it won't be released on CD, but I understand the label's reasoning for not doing so. I'll download it soon.

  17. The best albums that I've heard thus far this year are:

    Ego Likeness - Breedless
In Strict Confidence - La Parade Monstrueuse
    System Syn - Strangers
X-Marks the Pedwalk - Inner Zone Journey
    XP8 - Drop the Mask

In Strict Confidence "La Parade Monstrueuse" is currently my album of the year, and it's doubtful that anything else this year will change that.

Mind.In.A.Box "R.E.T.R.O" has some really good music on it, but it's basically an instrumental concept album for the most part, which doesn't appeal to me quite as much as their previous albums. Their vocals are always really good, so I miss them on the majority of the songs on this album.

The new Suicide Commando and :Wumpscut: albums are solid overall, but nothing really different or surprising for the projects. As much as I like "Siamese", there's a few tracks that aren't very strong. I like last year's "Fuckit" a little more.

System Syn "Strangers" has some really good songs on it, some of which are the best the project has ever offered. However, there's a couple (such as Chemical) that I don't like too much. Also, the track layout isn't very good IMO. I don't really care for the artwork, either. I perfer the European version's artwork, and I don't know why there's different artwork for different countries. I admittedly like the two previous System Syn releases ("The Mourning Ritual" and "End") a little more, but "Strangers" is still really good and a stand out album this year.

X-Marks the Pedwalk has made one of the best comebacks of a classic EBM band with "Inner Zone Journey". They prove why people have missed them, and I hope that they continue being active since they're masters of their craft.

XP8 "Drop the Mask" is probably going to be the club album of the year. The songs are so catchy, energetic and infectious that no-one could sit still in a club while they played. Good stuff!

  18. The new System Syn is til now the best album of the year for me. Music and lyrics are amazing! "If we are strangers let us remain strangers".
