I wanted to promote destroid as a new project. thats why my name wasnt on it. It was simply made for the clubs. so was the second record. nothing changed. the third record is gonna change though. since we dont sell any records, there is nothing to put in perspective any more. that goes for all my future records. architect is not gonna try to sound like another noise act. destroid is not gonna try like the latest goth/industrial club hit and haujobb, well, you will see. its gonna be cool. dejan is more involved and we are back to creating something unique.
there is also some d&b coming soon. a 12" is planned for Alphacut Records and a collab with Hecq is in the Pipeline as well.
I dont want to explain too much, its just, that I really liked bubbas opinion on one of my records, he was one of the few, that "got me".
Maybe I was lost for a while, but I am just a human being. I went through a lot in the beginning of this century. Whatever, Actions speak louder than words...

If you're back at it, I am more than game.

I didn't like Destroid at all. Nope, not even the first one. Haujobb, though, is good stuff! It's been quite some time since Vertical Theory, though...
I second bubba on what he said. Uniqueness is key.

Come on now Bubba, you have to cut Daniel some slack. He was not testing the waters with the Haujobb demos. Haujobb needs Dejan involved or it just does not work. It's just fragments of ideas. For quite a while there Dejan did not want to do music- or was unable, it was never very clear. But it was not like Daniel could just "force", Haujobb to happen. It's a chemistry between the two of them that really works.
I have to sympathize with you Daniel. My partner is Noise Process called it quits and fucked over a ton of ideas that will never see the light of day. Not that NP was that great, but we were trying to express something and not just sell records. I think you had the right idea, if I grasp it. Making music to sell and afford to make your own ideas on the side. It just did not work out, the system crashed. It has nothing to do with you but it took you with it. I still love Future Prophecies to death.
I have to agree with Bubba though, your side projects never got the attention they deserved. You should think about compiling them and re-releasing them yourself someday. There was a shitload of interest for them on the old Planetmyer Forum. I'm sure all those people are still out there waiting.
Like I mentioned before. I hope Haujobb 2010 will be like Ninety-Nine. Not the content and style. But the idea that you can do whatever you want and fuck all what people want to hear from you. The time to make music for the purpose of consumerism is dead. That's good news for musicians like us ;)

kthxbye

dmyer is, in my opinion, the best this scene has to offer. i can't wait for the new haujobb. the demos i have heard on his myspace are amazing. i would be happy with just a CD of demos.
Wynclum is an idiot.

Thanks Daniel for touching on the intent and original question of my thread.
No thanks for all the input from everyone else on what was a simple goddamn question about a release.
Posted 2 years ago # -
@dmyer,
I agree, make whatever you feel like making, don't try and fit whatever the fans want or the scene wants. I think your best output is/was when you ignored both.

Damn it Seraphin you know u can't start a hay...i mean haujobb thread without it going into a huge debate.
:pPosted 2 years ago # -
The masses are fickle anything you try to make as club music is not real fan base music those people will just steal and download the one track they hear in the club ie.noisuf-x every kid I know doesnt own noisuf-x they steal the one or two club tracks.
Make the music you want to make. I still listen to 99 and Newt. its nice to have different projects and do all different styles but fuck what people think make what you want to make. The bullshit in the clubs is not even worth trying to catch up with or emulatePosted 2 years ago # -
@Seraphin: Uhh, you posted this on a public forum. What were you expecting?
@Gigatronik: That about sums it up! We want a ton of shit from this guy but really, whatever he makes, as long as he's happy with it then it's all good.

I like my Haujobbs with plenty of luuuuube.

I've always thought that Haujobb is too good for this scene. I still think that Haujobb should be signed to Astralwerks or some big UK label and doing remixes for Kraftwerk, oribital, and the Prodigy.
Everything from Architect to Haujobb and Dots & Dashes is high quality stuff.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Can't anyone figure out why "old haujobb ruled" and the new stuff is boring? It was his mates, Daniel as a solo artist sucks.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I feel quite the opposite. I like the old stuff. Homes and Gardens and Freeze Frame Reality are great but I don't find myself listening to them like I do with Solutions, Polarity, and Vertical Theory; I like 99 but it doesn't have the replay quality that the others do. Not to mention that the remix albums are some of the best remix albums I've ever heard.
Shit, I can't believe that Solutions for a Small Planet wasn't more popular at the time. My raver friends were amazed by FSOL's Dead Cities back in 97 and I thought that Solutions completely blew that album away in every aspect.
Well, I guess Solutions doesn't count as a NEW album but you know what I mean.

Have to agree with Divider. I keep hearing that Haujobb somehow "lost it" after NinetyNine, and I don't get that at all. Can someone please point out exactly what's so bad about Polarity and Vertical Theory? I'm really curious, as I love both of these albums. Same with the demos on MySpace. A real shame that most of that material will probably never be released.

@Psychopomp, you are inaccurate in your assumption. All the haujobb LP's feature Daniel and Dejan. Björn left after Freeze Frame and "Solutions", sans Björn was the highlight of the bands popularity.
As for him not being an effective solo artist. Explain the popularity of Architect.

I can't believe I completely missed psychopomp making one of his patented douchey (re: drunk) comments. I better start paying more attention...

you did not miss much. The convo died after this.
Speaking of which [Haujobb] I need someone with some website savvy to help out with a small planetmyer update involving a AVI video. I have been trying to figure it out, and have asked some others to help but no one is really able or has the time to put into it. Please message me if you think you can help. Though I still love Haujobb and all the side-projects, I really do not have the time to work on Planetmyer anymore.
