Hey guys, I thought I'd just start a topic on this subject to get some speculation and opinion out there on the new crop of big budget hero movies this summer.

    This looks pretty damn cool.

The previous Green Lantern trailer just made the movie look really stupid. The new trailer brings a little light of hope for a decent movie.

I'm not holding my breath although i'm still hoping for a Thundercats movie. There is a new series on the way so that's something to look forward to. Thor looks good. I'm not sure about the Captain America movie but i was a fan of the character when i was a kid so i'll probably see it. I'm kinda sick of X-Men so i could care less about the new one. I'm a big Spidey fan so i hope they don't drop the ball on the new one. From what i've seen and heard so far i do have my doubts. I didn't like the first two Transformers films so i figure ths new one will be more of the same. They totally ruined the GI Joe movie but the upside is that the new cartoon is pretty good. The scenario is a bit like the A-Team but each episode has a new story and is very well written and exciting. This Green Lantern looks pretty formulaic but it doesn't look too bad for a superhero movie. I heard a Wonder Woman movie is also in the works. I just watched this movie which was surprisingly good:

Apparently there's going to be a new Green Lantern series too but i haven't seen any previews yet. The First Flight animated movie was pretty good.

  8. Well, Thor, Green Lantern(!), Captain America and a new Spidey: I will enjoy it for sure. Been always a superhero fan.

Although I also still have some hope for The Flash:

I'm a big comic fan but the only recent superhero movies I've enjoyed have been the first Spiderman, the first two X-Men films and the first Iron Man. Comics just don't seem to translate well to film, IMHO, and often turn out to be massively underwhelming.

Green Lantern just looks silly. And all I can think of now is 'why is Deadpool pretending to be Green Lantern'...

  10. Ok, tastes are different. I really enjoyed "batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight": IMHO some of the best superhero movies. Even Tim Burton`s movies - for that time - were great.

Not to mention "Superman I" + Superman II" (Chrisopher Reeve)

    And for the goofy part:

if you don't want to cry, don't read the next lines.

The live action Akira film is going to be PG, set in New York, and the actors that they may be cast as Kaneda and Tetsuo include Justin Timberlake and Robert Pattinson.

Batman Begins was good. The Dark Knight was good when the Joker was on screen and it wasn't just another CAR CHASE LOL.

  14. Am I the only one looking forward to Thor? :/

Batman vs Predators vs Aliens. Would have been best movie ever:

Oh, look, the same forgettable puerile manchild fantasies that Hollywood churns out every summer.
