This was mentioned in the SALEM thread but it was somewhat eclipsed by the other groups mentioned.

However Gatekeeper probably had the most distinctive and evocative sound out of all of those mentioned and imo deserves a great deal more attention:

Stop talking nonsense... reverb is grandiose and so is Krull... and Conan.

you are far too judgemental for no reason, this song is fucking great.

  9. Judgmental? It was an observation, shit loads of reverb. Other than that it was pretty simple. And I loved Krull, it was not an insult. I just watched it again on Netflix the other day :)

Ah but what about The Beastmaster, Legend and The Masters Of The Universe... See got you there.

Actually Tangerine Dream wrote the original score of Legend...

  11. What about them? They were great as well [with the exception of Masters..ugh, just turrible]

That whole style of music has the b-movie tongue in cheek thing going for it.

But that's what's good about it... the music I mean, not the Masters Of The Universe.

Gatekeeper have a new track on their Myspace that I seemed to remember loving.

can't be bother remembering the name, sending a link, or discussing why I liked it, but there you go. Find it ye-selves.

also, anyone from Chicago ever seen these guys play? They look like they put on a decent show.

On the other hand, they kind of ripped off (err, "sampled") Synergy.

Play both videos. There's a clue in them. This is early Snog levels of sampling.
