  1. Check out the XL-snippets for the forthcoming FLA Album Improvised Electronic device here:

We are trying to offer longer snippets on full albums now. Let me know what you think about this.

    hey Stefan,

Sheva already posted that here on the thread about the artwork:
    http://www.side-line.com/side-line-forum/topic/new-front-line-assembly-album-artwork/page/4
but you're right: remember us listening to that - it's great stuff (both, the music and the artwork - finally something on a white canvas and with a metaphoric message, i can't see this black deathdeathdeathstuff anymore... :)

    have a nice weekend!

  3. Bravo on the longer clips! I hate 30sec bits, you can make anything sound good for only 30secs.

This album sounds great. I did not like the single, but these LP tracks are sweet :D Great to hear Leebs voice again and not all the massive layers of effects!

  4. Thanks for the long clips. I've been wanting to sample this album for a while now, and I am simply blown away. Front Line Assembly are back in full force. They have brought the power back in both the vocals and music. I like the addition of guitars like they had on their Millennium album. Bill Leeb's vocals sound stronger than ever, the electronics are extremely creative and the beats are hard and heavy. I think that this could be my favorite FLA album yet, and definitely a contender for album of the year.

Thanks for the longer clips Stefan. Much appreciated.

Fortunately, the best song is the first single. Even though it's a complete rip off of Giorgio Moroder's innovative synth work and production on Donna Summer's "I Feel Love", it's still worth buying.

Sadly, the rest of the album is derivative macho guitar driven drivel that only appeals to those who have the I.Q. of a small soap dish. I was hoping with Chris Peterson involved they'd take a more electronic approach, but it seems to not be the case.

    Oh well...the single is good.

Are you always so insulting when sharing your opinion on something? The slight addition of guitar in some of the tracks is far from making the music macho guitar driven drivel for meatheads. FLA have always been a rather hard and heavy electro-industrial band, so if you want intellectual IDM then perhaps you should be looking elsewhere.

Can't wait for this album..yeah, longer snippets are better, but to be honest I didn't listen to them all because I still want some surprises when I put the CD on.

  8. i was at the bus stop with my friend and we saw this little faggot wearing a cap who was much smaller than me (he looked like he was about 5'6, 130lbs and im 5'11 175lbs), anyway when he looked over at us my friend asked him what he thought of the new fla and he turned away...i said hey dont ignore my friend faggot he asked you a question and walked over to him and knocked his cap off his head. my friend said pick it up faggot. so when he bent down to pick up his cap i pushed him to the ground, then when he went to get up again i kicked him in the face so hard his fucking nose was pissing out blood.

my friend and i then both started kicking him while he was on the ground then i said check his wallet , so my friend went through his pockets while i held him still and took all the money out of it even though there wasnt much. i grabbed hold of his hair and said "next time dont get smart and think your better by looking away and ignoring people when they ask you about leeb, bitch..." i still had hold of his hair with one hand and punched him as hard as i could in the face, then again a second time. i repeated my question "DO YOU UNDERSTAND??" he finally said yes and i said "YES WHAT?" and he said "yes sir". i then pounded him in the ribs a couple of times with my fist just to make sure he gott the message. then i took my cigarette (which was hanging out of my mouth the entire time...friend said it looked fucking badass) and put it out on his cheek

It's no secret Front Line Assembly have let me down consistently in this new millennium (sic) but GOD-DAMN, this is the one, boys. I've not been on the team in years but I am for Improvised. Electronic. Device.

Peterson's input is incredible! If this is the approach he does with FLA, be heavily warned for the new Decree.

The break beat overload has been quashed. No longer do they carry the entire song but are used as accents and integrated in ways I can only describe as sublime. The techno in FLA is in the mix again. How I'd love to hear this line up re-make the Blade. A nastier record from these guys I have not heard since FLAvour of the Weak. IED just does not give a fuck what anyone thinks, let alone expects; I'm floored quite honestly.

As for the guitars, yeah, they're in there (expertly placed, I might add) but moreover this is a very electronic release. Christ, I may have to check them out on tour. Something I've not done since the Implode tour in 1999.

I'd hardly say this is macho "meathead" music. It is terrifyingly cerebral and at long last, in it's element. No longer do the outside influences take precedence, this is FLA being FLA without any thought of charts or sales. They did this album for themselves and do not make ANY apologies for it.

  15. ...really waiting for it. I have the MCD "Shifting Through The Lens" in constant repeat.

So if I think that what FLA did in this past ten years was among the best they ever did, it's not for me?
I think Implode (yes I know it's '99) was their best album since Caustic Grip. And Artificial Soldier was, well, the same.

As for the guitars, yeah, they're in there (expertly placed, I might add) but moreover this is a very electronic release.

I'm glad to hear that, cause from the sound snippets, it sounded like a very rock oriented record to me. (except from Shifting Through The Lens)
(edit: Oh, I see the snippets are longer now, have to check them out)

New Front Line Assembly - terrifyingly cerebral music for those who have the I.Q. of a small soap dish.

If you don't identify with that description, don't buy it, it's just not for you.

  18. I'm buying this no question. Took the better parts of Rammstein and the better parts of FLA. I'm ALL OVER IT.
