i was mostly into guitar based industrial/metal/dark dub/amient/funk etc but lately really into that electronic industrial- skinny puppy, front 242, frontline assembly, severed heads
wanting to get more into the electronic side..instrumental, no guitars
i seem to like the old school electronic sound especially from the 80s but 90s are cool too

    what do people recommend?

nothing "happy" sounding, i prefer darker music but am pretty open minded
doesnt have to be heavy, infact id prefer it not be..

also, anything that is like 90s era techno animal.. their album re entry is just mind blowing so would kill for something like that

i hadn't heard Techno Animal before, good stuff.
reminds me of Meat Beat Manifesto, early KMFDM, Consolidated, Damage Manual, Gracious Shades

the more recent Portion Control albums sound like the intrumental stuff i'm hearing on re-entry.

Techno Animal is great. It's doubly cool because it's a side project of Justin Broadrick from Godflesh.

Brotherhood of the Bomb is my favorite one. Techno Animal also teamed with Alec Empire on Curse of the Golden Vampire.

  4. Techno Animal is what happened after Broadrick and Kevin Martin did GOD. So you might want to check out that project as well.

I think you would also really enjoy I Parasite :D

I also second the Psykosonik recomendation. Here are some tracks by them you may not have heard, as they did it under the name "Power of Seven".

  8. That 'playing at' feature on youtube is effin worthless.

Because this thread reminded me of that Bad Blood cd I have by Broadrick's other project, Ice. So I was looking those songs up on youtube and it said that they were playing in NYC this Friday which got me all psyched... until I researched it a bit and saw that it wasn't actually Ice who was going to be performing. Stupid youtube getting my hopes up..

i have all of Broadricks albums, well the ones that could be found.. im sure there are loads of 12" and eps i cant find
but more liking for either a) music similar to Re Entry..that old school electronic sound..
or b) 80s/90s electronic...i just love the sound of that era, using that old Roland gear, has a much different feel to modern music that is all crisp and perfect
not so much 80s electro pop as i have most of that..either stuff like Severed Heads..instrumental electronic..or even what would of been at the time rave music..as that 80s techno sound sounded very much like poppier industrial to me

    thanks for all recommendations
