The real question is... can this forum discuss music without it blowing up into a pissy fight 3 reply's in.
The answer? No.

20 topics on the first page
13 are music related
I'd say yes. I think what you personally are trying to ask is:
Does this forum discuss music *I* personally like?\
I cant think of ONE forum anywhere that discusses nothing but the subject matter. its intersting to discuss other topics with people who have similar music tastes. The music branches off into other interests such as sci-fi movies, video games, etc.
A forum would be boring as fuck if it was nothing but the original subject matter. The big difference with Sideline is that it does not have an array of forums:
Music
General Discussion
Movie Discussion
Computer DiscussionSo everything people want to discuss is talked about in the main forum.

And by the way, by posting this thread you essentially just added another non-specific music related post to the forum. STAY WITH THE PROGRAM FOR FUCKS SAKE!

Compared to the old forum we stay on-topic 90% of the time. I just wish we could bring back THE HAT, Nazi Spock, etc.

Well I for one find that Konrad Lorenz's notion of Emotional Entropy strikes a chord in todays modern civilized societies. However, you can argue that it is all desensitization due to mass-communication, pharmacology or as they liked to cry in the 1970s, modern isolation. This doesn't change the fact that depression, hopelessness and despair have become our most challenging social diseases and almost to the level of mass-disassociation.
I used the word chord. Which is related to music in the right context!!!!! Do I get a dog biscuit?
