  1. Posting here in vain hope of finding a source for this rare aborted album.

Found an old torrent and got 96%. Also 1 track on youtube.

Don't know if it's verboten to make a share request, but let me mention it was never for sale, and was supposedly let out for share through Marc's website for a short time way back.

As long as I'm making a first post, hi, I'm an independent animator and rare book dealer (pack rat) in san francisco. If you're nearby and make creative stuff, say hi.

I recently bought all the Cubanate CDs. I wish we see this album someday. Does anyone know Marc?

  4. Phil Barry has been posting on this forum about his new project Be My Enemy which sounds very promising (I'm not a fan of the XPQ-21'esque vocals, but the music is good), and he seems to be going on a lot about Cubanate too (understandable, he has every right to be proud of the stuff he did with Cubanate during the 90s)

Check out this recent remix he did of an old Cubanate classic:

  5. I know quite well JL De Meyer, last time we talked about Marc Heal he told me he was completely out of making music and really didn't care about making music ever again...

  6. Last time I saw Marc he was wearing a lovely business suit. I believe he has his own recording studio as well now.

  7. Now you tell me, I think Jean Luc told me he had some kind of production company working on mainstream radio-friendly records, and that he made a lot of money with that. But I'm not completely sure I'm not confusing with someone else.

So is there a possibility that he uploads Search Engine?

Someone leaked terrible quality (96-128kbps) mp3 clips of this
to a newsgroup over 10 years ago. I wouldn't even bother, honestly.

Yeah, I've heard the same of Marc. He is only into music management
these days and I believe he was also venturing his own label though
that was quite some time ago.

I will agree the music of today lacks the balls this act brought
    to the table.

  12. I don't care if it's 56kbps as long as I can hear what it sounds like.

  15. Nothing, eh? Shame...

Well here's that one track that's findable on youtube. I'd love to hear the rest, at any quality.

  16. Marc's "other interests" are indeed the thing holding up any "reboot" of Cubanate at this time, if I understand correctly.
Because Phil has written a lot of stuff for a new album - but Marc is busy with other things.

Simply trying to pin Marc down to finishing off an "in progress" remix of his of Be My Enemy's "The New Wave" is taking far longer than any of us would wish...more's the pity because its an interesting take on the track.
There is a new Cubanate track on the upcoming Alfa Matrix comp "Electronic Body Matrix" (gotta love that name) - but when we may get more is anyone's guess, unfortunately...

Yes - I can't recommend Be My Enemy's album highly enough, unsurprisingly , lol...

some of the demo's were pretty good, 'strength in numbers' (four to the floor cubanate) and 'skyline' are two that i remember. last thing i heard (other than the cubanate reformation) marc co-owned a studio down in old street.
