Hi guys, it's seem when you add an external intrument in cubase 5to use your hardware like a vst (Audio and midi in the same track)
the midi channel is fix at 1.
that really piss me of because I wanna use and multimbral synth set on midi channel 9 and 10.

    So anyone can help me?

Btw I know how change a channel on a classic '' midi track'' on cubase, here we talk about ''Instrument track''

Also I know how setting up your new hardware, you have to set-up the midi channel but it does't work and still on the channel 1...

    so anyone an help :(

useless link but thanks to try, anyway I found and it's not possible to change the midi channel in a instrument track it's really stock on channel 1.

of course you're able to change the channel via a midi-insert effect named 'Transformer'.
this module is included since SX 1 and is hardly used by musicians though. but it really helps to solve many problems - so give it a try. ;)

put this fx in one of the slots on the left side (Midi-Insert-Effects) and open it. you'll see a window that looks similiar to that of the logical editor (which is a very powerful tool, too btw.) - now add a line on the upper section, choose 'Channel' as the target, choose 'equals to' (i hope this is the right translation because i use the german version of cubase) and set the value to '1' (or any input channel you'd like to use).
into the lower section of the window choose 'Channel' again, in the second colomn choose 'Set to fixed value' and set it to the desired channel.

    that's it.

    i love cubase 5. it's still great and i'm looking for the update to 6, `michael. ;)

just want to 'edit'/add something here:
_i'd like to mention that using the 'instrument'-channels in cubase only works for mono/stereo plugins. you won't be able to use more than two audio-channels due to its limitation - no subouts here.
to be honest, as yet i didn't use them. maybe Steinberg wanted to introduce something that is likely designed as Ableton's structure focused on an easier way organizing sounds. i don't know. and i don't care about, no need for doing that in my case.
_at `michael: of course i'm not 'looking for' but 'looking forward to buying' the update. really, bro... i bet you'd get into it as you probably did with battery 3 in the meantime. ;)
