  1. since people have asked for some sounds

    www.soundclick.com/tarsick

just a track of a drone patch I made on the Future Retro XS with some reverb provided by the Eventide Eclipse

i know these noisy synth demos are boring to most. i do enjoy programing and tweaking drones and noisy patches though. i plan on cutting out chunks of that track and copying and pasting them back in such a way to make a more rythmic pattern.

  2. Here's mine.

Nothing specific. Some hardware, some software. Just individual bits from a WIP. No presets though!

  3. "No presets though! "lol

  4. Well this is mostly an industrial forum. I usually assume that people just use presets from a virus/vanguard unless stated otherwise.

For context: I made the strings in Omnisphere. One of the pads I made on my Ion. I'll leave the 303 sound up to you guys to figure out :). The vocal sound was sampling and a lot of panning.

    EDIT
    Derf.

  5. Kryonik, i really liked everything but the 303. the 303 sounded excellent and the FX suited it well, i've just heard lots and lots of 303s though so little interest there.

i especially liked the weird breathy sounds at the end of it, how'd you do those?

  6. Aforementioned sampling and panning. Believe it or not, that's three different sounds. One human, one my cat, and one from a sample library I have that I can't quite recall.

Basically, EQ to individual parts, bus compression, and all through a KsP8 hall.

For specifics: Compressor wise I use Stillwell's Rockit, and for bus compression I use the Softube emulation of the CL 1B. I got most of my gear back a year ago when I actually -had- money. Most of my EQing is done via PSP Neon. I also have a stereo pair of really good compressors called Distressors.

As for the 303, been debating keeping it in or not. It's a good transition sound.

  7. thats pretty fucking cool. sampling and sample manipulation is something im really interested in.

for what 303s sell for now a days, i'd have no problem selling one if i owned it and buying other gear... if i wanted something 303-esque I'd definitely try to find a Future Retro 777.

  8. I had one. Sold it. Got a lot of cool gear.

The 303 sound present actually comes from a VST called Audiorealism Bassline. I've just compressed it individually and slapped some delay on it and sent it to some reverb.

  9. That Bassline VST is really cool, we have talked about it on here before. I think it is the best 303 emulator. The D16 one is very good though as well. But I too get tired of that typical "303 sound". Like the pads in this though..

Added you on my Soundclick- Tsarik. I did not know that anyone used that place anymore, been there for countless years..heh I dig the drone treatments. Should be longer though. Played loud though it really drives! Make more stuff!

Anyhow, here is my latest experiment. I stopped dropping them around here because it seemed like no one really cared about anything but the next club hit. I posted it on Twitter and some people enjoyed it. This is unrehearsed, just fucking around, so production comments are useless :P

  10. Michael, I've loved everything I've heard from R010R and am very much looking forward to your next release.

Its also interesting how you seem to be connected to I, Parasite and Kalte Farben, which are two of my favorite projects. Any future collaboration with either?

    Posted 1 year ago #
  11. Thank you man!

In fact yes, I am and have been collaborating with both on various projects. I will drop some info on that later this month.

  12. I've added some drums to what was loudnoises.

The drums are all samples from a Future Retro XS, processing provided by the eclipse.

you can hear what is now Astral Projected Penis @:

I'm going to add some synth stuff to it tomorrow

  13. Really building now! Cool. Some variable delay on the percussion to coincide with the synth warble-especially around 1:30 and the times where the sounds collide-would be a neat effect. Like the synth is corrupting the drum pattern.

  16. Cool! Odd, it reminds me somewhat of classical music.

  17. still getting used to playing in time. never had a metronome so it wasn't until i was able to output some drum sounds through my amp(thx audiointerface) that i was able to practice on the keyboard to a certain time signature.

have some work to do today but when I get to it again i plan on cutting sections of what is there out and putting in a different percussion beat(made with the same XS samples) and new synth lines. i've always loved voice samples so i'm sure some of those will make their way in there as well.

  18. Oh that is right, you are not using any sort of sequencer for this. Cool. Did you get the X-Station yet? With the template editor prog you should be able to set it up to control your Eclipse via MIDI an then mess with various parameters of effects in real time. I do this with software FX all the time, it is easy with MIDI learn functions. More difficult with hardware but still possible. You just need to know with CC functions numbers are which and that should be in the manual.

In fact it is on page 44 of the manual http://www.sonus.si/files/Eventide%20eclipse%20manual.pdf
And there appears to be a sort of MIDI learn function with [MONITOR]

  19. i hadn't thought of that. going to pick up another midi cable today.

i do have the x-station. using it to control the XS and to send and receive audio from the computer.

  20. New experiment. Livid made a stand-alone version of the Livid Step 8x8 sequencer to use with the Block or Ohm64. For this experiment I set up the Korg Ms2k for percussion and the Virus B for synths. The mixer is running an AUX send of the Noise Swash through the Virus, but layered back onto another inst line. That is why at times the swash really jumps out of the mix and smacks you in the face. Enjoy!
