This is something that interests me in terms of sound design and not just music, but who are in your opinion, people you look to for quality and originality of programming and production?

    I think for me:

Kraftwerk - start at the beginning...bleeps and bloops that defined a new music.

Chemical Brothers - nearly every album has 'something' sound wise that makes me prick up my ears and go, "I've not heard this before" or "What is that?!?!".

Prodigy - as anybody who has seen the reverse engineering of Smack My Bitch Up on YouTube, the way they use and process samples is peerless.

Covenant - Northern Light. A limited textural palette gave the album a wonderful minimalist, clear and cohesive sound.

NIN - Downward Spiral and The Fragile. Wonderfully original sound design.

    chem brothers for sure.
I think push the button is one of my favourite albums indeed.

:wumpscut: dried blood of gomorrah- there is something arcane and ancient and earthy sounding in that album. I can't describe it further than that.

I second prodigy and TDS and Kraftwerk.

F/A/V has some very nice sounds and noise.

Peter Andersson of Raison Détre is still one of my favourite sound designers to this day.

Outside this scene, Ummet Ozcan, Kamui and Paul Van Dyk I always find to be instantly recognizable.

Rob Papen and Manuel Schleis who design most if not all of the sounds
used in your scene today (even if they are slightly tweaked).
