No wonder they are so scarce, these guys are hoarding them!

  3. Redundant much? 30 TBs and nobody there can make a decent bass sequence? I am pretty unimpressed.

Oh yeah, musically it's gash! It's just cool to see so many in one place...like a vintage car convention or something with 303s. I wonder if other synths have meet ups?

  7. @Tsarik-you need to find other musicians in your area to brap with. That is an important factor to musical growth.

    TACOS!

    @ Michael

That is very true. Unfortunately I don't know anybody in my area that I could brap with.

And it's something that I long for. :\

    TACOS!

    I live in Dallas, Tx

The so-called "scene" here is really small but full of big egos, there's just nobody interesting around who would be interested in the idea of braping.

  11. the only guy i occasionally jam with plays bass

and fuck that.. i want to play synth bass!

  12. That sucks! At least I have Chris [IP] out here if I need to jam. Or I can brap with Dracos of FGFC. I cannot believe that no one is Dallas or NoLa are wanting to brap or jam with synths. I could find any number of people to jam with in Phoenix-and the scene was pretty damn small. I am moving to WA pretty soon here and i'm sure I can track down some new freaks to brap with.

    You guys gotta move! :D

I think half the problem is most industrial artists are not necessarily musicians. Even to the point of mashing things up live with effects, pedals etc. It's tragic how many bands I see miming at a live show, I wouldn't mind but they aren't even playing particularly technical parts in the first place.

  15. @Modulate-Very true. Also very close to my usual complaints about music around here. You can tell when someone is just punching in shit or really playing out an idea. Back when I used to tour as Noise Process, we were always playing with some band that was just posturing, synths on stage not even hooked up, people playing strings or pads out of time, sitting behind an ASR just triggering samples. These were bands that sold tons of albums, had a lot of press. Here I was hacking away at 2 full synths and all the live effects, completely live, no sequencing or arps. All that work and people really would not have cared if I was just playing to a backing and faked it. It was fucking disappointing and burned me out of playing live after about 10 years of that bullshit.

Now I would rather go with a non-scene venue or team up with another band that has to play their instruments. Though it is not always technically accurate-it is a lot more fun and more fulfilling as a musician.
